'The View' host Sara Haines swears in front of live audience as Alyssa Farah Griffin giggles after awkward on-air blunder
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ABC’s daytime talk show ‘The View’ offers a solid platform for debates that reach millions of viewers in the country. Whether it is an ongoing political debacle or a popular culture view, the hosts of the show do not back down from offering their opinions on matters of national importance.
Sara Haines, the 45-year-old journalist and co-host of ‘The View', did exactly that but made a huge slip as she was carried away by the emotional response to a burning topic. In the middle of a heated discussion, Sara couldn’t help but curse, though unintentionally, which made her co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, giggle. But what made Sara use a curse word on live air?
Why did Sara Haines curse?
On June 23, Friday, a pre-taped episode, ‘The View’ panel consisting of Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Ana Navarro were discussing how Roe v Wade was overturned just a year ago. With differing opinions on political matters, an argument broke out among the hosts. Joy and Ana were in the middle of a discussion when Sara interjected with her opinion and ended up using a curse word. "I just want to clarify. I am not blaming this on the Democrats, but I think two things can be true at once. The Right, and the Far Religious Right, are the ones who have fought for this for years and years and years.”
Sara continued, "But, my frustration is, I think all politicians put this on the ballot to weaponize against the other side, the other point of view. And never solve it for the actual people. That's what p**ses me off.” At this moment, Sara instantly realized the word she had just uttered and looked into the crowd. However, while thinking quickly on her feet, Sara corrected herself and said, "-upsets me a lot,” as she nervously scratched her neck. Though Joy ignored her mistake, Alyssa couldn’t help but giggle at her co-host's apparent slip-up.
Does Sara have a habit of cursing?
Back in November 2022, Sara dropped a curse word on live air. 'The View' panel was discussing the exorbitant prices of Taylor Swift's concert tickets. Sara was shocked to learn that presale tickets for Taylor's 2023 Eras tour were going for as much as $95,000. The hosts spoke about millions of fans struggling to buy presale tickets to Taylor's first tour in five years after Ticketmaster crashed. Sara had enough of the discussion, looked at her co-hosts, and said, “Who buys this sh*t“ before stopping herself and saying: “-stuff?" Everyone around her burst out laughing, as Sara almost cursed on live air again.
