Netflix's 'The Stranger' blows fans away as it effectively re-creates novel's dystopian thrill
"It’s very dystopian. It’s creepy. it’s very British" and that fan declaration should give you an idea of how gripping 'The Stranger' is. Netflix's eight-part miniseries is based on Harlan Coben's novel of the same name. Even though the series has released yesterday, the reactions were insanely positively with Twitter praising the team behind the psychological thriller. "I would like to congratulate the casting director on #TheStranger. Superb casting down to the last role and I especially enjoyed the #diversity reflective of real life. Bravo!" wrote a fan.
And here are a few more choice reactions: "My mind is blown I did not expect this #TheStranger," tweeted a fan. "Done watching #TheStranger. What a ride! It certainly gives us food for thought. The things humans do to each other because they feel justified are astounding. It's an excellent drama. Thanks, @HarlanCoben, for the story, and to the cast and crew. Tune in, folks! #RichardArmitage" said another.
By the way, look who decided to tweet. Jennifer Saunders, who plays 'Heidi Klum' in the show, says she's happy to be a part of the series. And so are we and the fans. She wrote, "Very happy to have been part of this. It’s gripping. Almost as gripping as the denim jumpsuit I got to wear! #TheStranger #Netflix," she said. And yes, we loved you in that jumpsuit.
Richard Armitage's performance didn't go unnoticed either. "Finished Episode 7. Only one episode is remaining. I love this show and Adam Price so much. #RichardArmitage #TheStranger #AdamPrice #HalanCoben," a fan tweeted. And so did Paul Kaye. "Paul Kaye is one of my favorite actors. So pleased to see him in this brilliant series. Writing and acting both brilliant," wrote another.
And to end with: Awww! Let's hope he sleeps tonight! Nope! I am saving #thestranger & the lovely Mr. Armitage for my weekend binge-watch. I am going to start tonight. Nothing like a weekend with a Richard!
'The Stranger' is available for streaming on Netflix.
