In episode 6, Charles Bluhdorn (Burn Gorman) asks Barry Lapidus to set up a meeting with a potential buyer of Paramount. Charles had been planning for a long time to sell Paramount, as they were riding high on the success of their last venture, 'Love Story', and he understood that they had the power to negotiate the best possible deal. Unfortunately, when producer Al Ruddy’s (Miles Teller) connection with the mafia becomes public, it taints the image of the production house. As a result, no buyers were ready to negotiate any deals with Paramount.

To make the situation worse, Dunston arrives to see Charles and informs him that he called an emergency board meeting and he better have people ready to buy. During the board meeting, Dunston explains that Paramount has been an embarrassment to Gulf and Western and it’s time for them to part ways. He makes a motion to sell Paramount Pictures to Calhoun Enterprises and decides to vote. However before the voting takes place, Robert Evans barges into the room. Despite Barry’s attempts to silence Robert, Charles gives him permission to speak.

Robert then makes a passionate monologue about the power of Paramount and compares it to the Statue of Liberty. He informs Charles that Paramount is not just running a business; it was mending the soul of a broken nation and giving hope to people. Films gave the audience a reason to smile, to get entertained, and for a couple of hours they forgot about the harsh realities of the world. He reminds the board members about the box office success of ‘Love Story’ and how it shaped the production house. He promises them that ‘The Godfather’ will elevate Paramount Pictures to its glory and pleads before them to not sell it. Towards the end of the episode, Charles and Robert meet again where the former reveals that the board has decided to not sell Paramount.
