'The Masked Singer' Season 11 finale viewers left disappointed as Goldfish wins Fox show

Vanessa Hudgens, who was under the Goldfish mask, delivered powerful performances of Blondie's 'Heart of Glass' and Elton John's 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Goldfish, unmasked as Vanessa Hudgens clinched the title of 'The Masked Singer' Season 11 winner. However, some viewers expressed frustration after the winner's announcement, arguing that Vanessa should not have won the Fox show.

During the finale episode, Vanessa delivered powerful performances of Blondie's 'Heart of Glass' and Elton John's 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me.' After winning the Fox show, Vanessa noted, "I never knew that it would give me the freedom to purely just do something that I love."

She further noted, "And it's been so long since I've been able to do that. It makes me so emotional because I really do love it so much." However, some viewers were not convinced by the panel's decision and criticized the singing competition as 'rigged'.

A social media user commented, "The Masked Singer panelist and everyone else who voted for goldfish YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!! 🔥😡🤬😠💢🗯." Another person added, "Bull. She shouldn't have won. She shouldn't even be in the final. I know for sure now this show is rigged."

One critic noted, "#Goldfish you got to be kidding, #Gumball is a superior singer with better songs." Another noted, "Gumball was the clear winner! He outperformed the fish Throw the voters out!!!" Another viewer said, "#maskedsinger was a bad decision. Gumball was way better."

Vanessa Hudges claims to be 'proud' of her performance

'The Masked Singer' Season 11 winner Vanessa Hudgens revealed in her clue package, "I come from a working-class family that has no connection to Hollywood whatsoever, so there's no reason I should have made it." She added, "But I'm proof that with enough love, hard work and dedication, you can truly do anything."

The actress and singer also claimed to be proud of her journey and noted, "And, I'm so proud of my performances and I can't wait to have kids when that time comes so I can be like, 'Look at mommy go!" Vanessa also thanked her mom for taking her to her voice lessons and dance lessons.

Who is 'The Masked Singer' Season 11 runner-up?

Gumball aka Scott Porter bagged 'The Masked Singer' Season 11 runner-up title. Interestingly, both Scott and Vanessa Hudgens starred in the 2009 musical comedy 'Bandslam'. After Vanessa won the trophy, Scott jokingly remarked, "I lost to her in the movie!" adding, "And now, it's just life just repeating itself."

Scott shared that he had no prior singing experience and didn't know he could do this until tonight, but he's "glad he did." He also reflected on his journey, noting that his final performance was really about his folks because they were in a rock band but were never able to pay the bills from it.
