Can we all just collectively heave a sigh of relief? Episode 8 of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4 saw Midge and Lenny finally hook up, bringing an end to the sexual tension that has been brewing since the first season. Ending up at Lenny's hotel room after making it out of the raid at the Wolford, the two comics spend the night together. However, this isn't the first time that they have been intimate. Midge and Lenny had a very romantic night of dining and dancing at a club in Miami in Season 3, but they didn't make it to bed, disappointing many fans. Sadly, their next encounter after that passionate night isn't one that Midge is entirely comfortable with.

For the uninitiated, Episode 8 of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4 showed Lenny visiting Midge at the Wolford, apologizing for being rude to her in Episode 6 and asking her to perform instead of him as the opening act for Tony Bennett. He adds that it's his dream gig but he wants Midge to do it as he will be performing at the Carnegie Hall but before Midge responds to him there's a raid at the Wolford and the two make away just before the police get them.

The following morning, Midge is seen at Susie's office, and this is when they get a call from someone who works for Tony Bennett. Susie, who remembers Midge's choice to not be an opening act anymore, doesn't even bother to talk to Bennett's employee, asking her secretary to hang up on them. Midge catches Lenny's set at the Carnegie Hall, and though he seems to be pleased to see her at the afterparty, he takes her back to the stage where the two end up arguing.

Lenny asks her why she turned down the offer from Bennett's end, and goes on to reveal that he had to bat for her and even negotiated her pay thrice to ensure that she would be paid well. Midge tells Lenny that she has a plan and that includes not opening for anyone anymore. This frustrates Lenny, who goes on to tell her that she is hiding away from an industry that has very few opportunities and that the windows close on people before they even see it coming. Lenny storms out after saying "If you blow this, I swear you'll break my f**king heart," while Midge begins to reconsider things after misreading a sign for the Gordon Ford Show as 'GO FORWARD.'
