Episode 5 of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4 saw Sophie Lennon (Jane Lynch) crush it, as she made her first public appearance after her Broadway failure, on the Gordon Ford show. The once-popular comedian makes the audience crack up right from the minute they go live, impressing the host to the point that he alters the schedule to give her more time on air.

In Episode 6, it's revealed that the feature, arranged by Susie (Alex Borstein), went so well that Sophie ends up getting her own game show on NBC. As she finds success, she begins to shower Susie with gifts, hoping to convince her to become her manager once again. Titled 'Maisel vs. Lennon: The Cut Contest,' Episode 6 of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4 begins with Susie getting frustrated as her home/office gets filled with Sophie's gifts. Desperate to win her back, Sophie even buys her a Cadillac. However, Susie doesn't fold to temptation, instead focuses on booking a gig for Alfie (Gideon Glick), a gifted magician.

Halfway through Episode 6 of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4, Midge comes home to find Sophie waiting for her. Sophie offers to let Midge open for her and when Midge refuses, Sophie begins to call out Midge's debts. Precise to the last cent, Sophie tells Midge to take the job, assuring her that she'll be debt-free within a year. She even throws in a fridge in the deal, after she notices that Midge's fridge has gone kaput.

Midge takes the job, opening for 'Seconds Count,' Sophie's game show, entertaining the crowd without breaking a sweat. This doesn't sit well with Sophie, who interferes with Midge's set by showing up ahead of time. The two comics take turns trying to outdo one another and this leads to a roast of sorts, with Midge and Sophie doing each other dirty. Sophie tries to insult Midge by making a joke about the Wolford, while Midge shocks everyone by calling Sophie a has-been trying to regain some fame in her twilight years.

Episode 6 of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' Season 4 ends with the showrunners breaking the fight by tossing 'Seconds Count' goodies at the audience, as Sophie gets dragged away, while Midge does a mic-drop.

'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
