Pedro Pascal is the kind of supportive brother that anyone would be lucky to have. In a recent post on social media, 'The Mandalorian' star celebrated his sister Lux after she came out as transgender in the latest edition of a Chilean magazine. Proudly welcoming his sister on social media was Pascal, who shared a copy of the cover of the Chilean magazine 'Ya' which carried a beautiful profile shot of Lux. He captioned the image on Instagram, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” which translates to "my sister, my heart, our Lux."

In the cover story feature, 28-year-old Lux, who was formerly known as Lucas Balmaceda, revealed that she started taking hormone treatment in July and is now studying acting at Juilliard in New York City. “My transition has been something that’s very natural for everyone in my family,” Lux said in the feature (translated from Spanish). “It’s almost something that they expected to happen.”

She recalls a time when she previously told her family that she identified as nonbinary, but quickly realized she was actually a woman. "Moving through the world as a woman is much more simple for me," as a trans woman, Lux reportedly said, adding, “but I still advocate for nonbinary identities to have a space in society.” The feature also sheds light on her relationship with her brother and how he has been supportive of her transition, which she had revealed to him over FaceTime, from the very beginning. "[He] has been an important part of this,” she shared. “He’s also an artist and has served as a guide for me. He was one of the first people to gift me the tools that started shaping my identity.”

She added that when she came out as trans to Pedro over a video call earlier this year, her brother had a touching response. “He asked me how I felt, because I remember he was a little worried,” Lux said, but added he quickly congratulated her and said, “perfect, this is incredible.” It might not come as a surprise to fans of the actor that he supports trans right. Last year, when a fan asked him on Twitter if he believes in "trans right", Pascal responded by saying, “forever and always.”

Through the article, Lux also highlights the importance of activism within the LGBTQ community, saying, “We need trans activists who are good, smart, informed and who can be strong voices against transphobia, homophobia and racism.” In another interview, she stresses, "I have had a certain form of privilege because I have been able to make my transition hidden and with support. LGBTQ+ equality movement has been led by the most marginalized of voices, those who at the end of the day, had nothing to lose because they had already been deprived everything. I have been very fortunate."

According to an article, Lux studied a BFA in acting in the theater conservatory at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and has worked as a dancer, performer and actor with a 'Narcos' acting credit to her name. She played a character named Elias. Twitter is touched by Pascal's gesture. "Sometimes you just see someone and feel like they're immesurably making the world better and @PedroPascal1 is absolutely one of those people. Love how genuinely cool and caring he seems especially about trans rights. I may have to watch everything he's ever been in," one user tweeted.
