LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jon Favreau's creation, 'The Mandalorian' came back with a banging first episode (named: 'The Apostate') of Season 3 on March 1, 2023. It’s been over two years since Season 2's finale of 'The Mandalorian,' which sent Din (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, the tiny but powerful creature he rescued and virtually adopted, on their separate paths. Naturally, the first episode should have picked up from that cliffhanger. It didn't. However, in the meantime, we got 'The Book of Boba Fett,' a series that was only tangentially related to 'The Mandalorian' apart from a stretch of episodes that were absolutely crucial to the story of 'The Mandalorian'.

Furthermore, the new season is not all new as Katee Sackhoff, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Omid Abtahi returned as co-stars. Last but not the least, Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder (who are the stunt doubles of 'The Mandalorian') have received co-star credit beginning with the third season. This episode regardless is the continuation of Mando's and Grogu's journey from Kalavela city to the Mandalore's living water mines where he can bathe and be forgiven for his "transgressions".

Jon Favreau confirms ‘The Mandalorian’ Seasons 2 and 3 take place over ‘two years'

The destination is filled with hindrances

The second episode pushes the accelerator more than we anticipated, involving Pascal's Din and Grogu in a thrilling experience, leading them into tense moments, with action and uncertainty doing what every show must do: leaving the audience wanting more. As one knows this time the stakes are high and the intensity is felt as Din embarks on a journey for redemption. This episode moves at an incredible pace with a lot of intense scenes and more intense background music. It surely was a nail-biting episode with so much newness introduced in the world of Mandalore. This episode also showcases the incredible bond between Grogu and Mando. One thing which is persistent throughout all the episodes is Grogu being absolutely adorable.

Recap of Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore

We see Amy Sedaris return in the second episode of Season 3 and she sells an astromech to Pascal's Din for his adventure when he went looking for a part of the droid. On the way to Mandalore, in the spaceship, Mando gives a brief historical background about Mandalore and where he grew up, and about the rest of space. Regardless of the popular beliefs and the myths Din finds out that Mandalore is breathable and goes to the civic center as Bo Katan suggested to. After Din gets abducted by a Mandalore monster Grogu tries to save him by using his incredible powers but fails. It is when Din suggests Grogu to go to Bo Katan for help. Regardless, the episode leaves us with a major cliffhanger.
