'The Man in the High Castle' is Amazon Prime Video's most underrated show. Based on the alternate history novel by Philip K. Dick, 'The Man in the High Castle' shows a parallel universe where the Axis powers win World War II. The stories of our protagonists start in 1962 after the discovery of newsreels and home movies that depict Japan and Germany losing the war.

Release date

Season 4 of 'The Man in the High Castle' will be out on Amazon Prime Video on November 15, 2019. 

Plot

The official synopsis of the fourth and the final season reads: "The final season of 'The Man in the High Castle' will be rocked by war and revolution. The Resistance becomes a full-blown rebellion, driven by Juliana Crain's (Alexa Davalos) visions of a better world."

"A new Black insurgent movement emerges to fight the forces of Nazism and imperialism. As empires teeter, Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido (Joel De La Fuente) will find himself torn between his duty to his country and the bonds of family," it continues.

"Meanwhile, Reichsmarschall John Smith (Rufus Sewell) will be drawn towards the portal the Nazis have built to another universe and the tantalizing possibility of stepping through a gateway to the path not taken," the synopsis adds.

As Juliana Crain, Davalos pretty much remains the moral compass of the show. The actress is known for her role on 'Angel', 'The Chronicles of Riddick', 'Feast of Love', 'The Mist', 'Deafiance', and 'Clash of the Titans'. 

Rufus Sewell as John Smith

As John Smith, Rufus Sewell delivers a commendable performance investigating the resistance. The actor is known for his work in 'John Adams', 'Zen', 'The Pillars of the Earth', 'Parade's End', 'Killing Jesus', 'Charles II: The Power and The Passion', and 'Eleventh Hour'.  His role as Jan in 'Rock 'n' Roll' won him an Olivier Award and a Tony Award nomination. 

Joel de la Fuente as Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido

As Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido, Joel de la Fuente is the ruthless head of the Kenpeitai in San Fransisco. The actor is known for his performance of Paul Wang in 'Space: Above and Beyond', 'Hemlock Grove' and 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'.

Based on the book by Philip K. Dick

Philip's 1962 book is an electrifying thriller set fifteen years after an alternative ending to the World War II where the Axis powers emerged victoriously. The novel won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1963. 

Developed by Frank Spotnitz

Spotnitz is known for his work on 'The X-Files', 'Samurai Girl', 'Transporter: The Series', 'Crossing Lines', and 'The Indian Detective'.

The mind-bending trailer to the fourth and final season of 'The Man in the High Castle' shows that the resistance is on an all-time high. As the Germans and the Japanese both try to win against the resistance, the trailer also shows the Germans developing a portal of some sorts which could help them travel across universes. If Juliana Crain doesn't stop this from happening, it won't be just her world that stands the risk of destruction.
