'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Episode 7: Will darkness reign after Mount Doom's eruption?
‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ ramped up the action quotient with the brilliant Episode 6 and took the series to a whole new level. The first five episodes were all about laying a strong foundation for an epic battle and ‘Udun’ gave us a glimpse of what we can expect from the series moving forward. The last week’s episode was packed with action sequences and riveting drama, making viewers believe that the time has come for Sauron to make a grand entry.
‘Udun’ ended on a massive note and we got to the eruption of Mount Doom. The eruption caused a lot of damage to The Southlands and killed a lot of people. As the volcano erupted, Galadriel stood there and watched as the ash clouds and fire took over the land. But if you feel that things are going to get better from here, then you are beginning because the eruption has started the most dangerous era of Middle Earth.

The destruction caused by the volcano made everyone concerned for Galadriel’s fate. However, we know that she will survive the carnage because she is one of the most important characters in the Third age of Middle Earth. But that doesn’t mean that there won’t be difficulties in her path after seeing that destruction. The promo for Episode 7 shows her covered in red ash as she looks around her and realizes that the Southlands have completely been ruined. Everything is on fire and we are just hoping that we didn’t lose any major characters.
On the other hand, the promo also shows what are the other characters up to. The seventh episode will also feature Durin, Elrond, The Harfoots, and the Stranger. It seems like the Harfoots have finally reached their destination as Largo says, “Up ahead. I think this is it.” The entire family was trying to enjoy the moment, but the entire Earth began to shake as soon as they reached the hills.
The clip also reveals Elrond and Durin digging up for Mithril and trying to get their hands on the minerals as soon as possible. However, it seems something dark and diabolical is waiting for them on the other side. Will they continue to dig up the mines? Or they will stop the digging to keep themselves and the people of Middle Earth safe.
The promo ends with King Durin saying, “Their time has come” and we don’t who is he speaking about. The expressions on his face say that something or someone dangerous is returning to Middle Earth to wreak havoc and it will be difficult for anyone to stop them. Is he talking about Sauron and his army? Maybe. But Adar is also alive and he might be getting a second chance to get away from the clutches of Elves and the people of Numenor.
Things are getting really intense in ‘The Rings of Power’ and with only two episodes remaining, all major characters are now in danger of losing their lives to ramp up the tension.
'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' returns to Amazon Prime Video every Friday at 12:01 am EST.
