The Kalya Lemieux scandal: Parents fear what will happen after transgender teacher's suspension
OAKVILLE, CANADA: It seems the drama surrounding a controversial Canadian teacher, who identifies as a female, is not going to go away anytime soon. Her removal from the classroom has not apparently convinced the concerned parents. Kalya Lemieux was recently put on paid leave after many complained about her physical appearance which includes provocative clothing and Z-cup prosthetic breasts, which she claims are natural. Also, recently, The New York Post found out that after school hours, Lemieux dresses as a male and goes out without her massive breasts.
A statement from the Halton School District spokesperson Heather Francey said that “while not currently on an active assignment, the teacher remains employed with the HDSB (Halton District School Board).” But the latest development has seemingly created more chaos than peace. Now people are reportedly more worried since Lemieux, who was teaching at Oakville Trafalgar High School, has not been dismissed permanently, it could mean she could be placed at some other school.

‘There is more work to do'
With the fear of being confronted with the Lemieux situation again or something similar in the future, the Students First Ontario (SFO) group has started a GoFundMe to get financial help in pushing for more rules for teachers inside school premises. The SFO was one of the organizations that consistently pressed for the 39-year-old teacher's eviction.
Now, the fundraiser by them read, “Stage 1 helped pay for most of our legal fees and got us to this point – see the SFO website for status updates. Please help us cover our legal fees as we continue to defend open inquiry, transparency, and accountability at the Halton District School Board. We’ve made great progress to date and there is more work to do. We’re all in this together.”
One of the organizers, Celina Close, told The Ottawa Sun, “This was never about Kayla Lemieux,” but “always about the students in the classroom, their future, their safety, their learning”. Close also added that the global attention the school board received because of Lemieux has left the “students terrified”.
‘School board is made up of gutless cowards’
Some on social media have shared their fear regarding Lemieux too. A Twitter user wrote, “Paid leave?? Does this mean that the HDSB will place or force another school to take her once the storm blows over?” Another user said, “Salary has to end now.” “It's not over until we know he (she) is fired or suspended without pay,” the third user tweeted. “What is this 'still employed' nonsense?! The school board is made up of gutless cowards,” the fourth user remarked.

A tweet said, “Good should be banned from teaching.” The second one added, “And the woke school board still says it supports this jerk. I didn’t realize he argued the breasts were real. 🙄 Tax $$ should not be supporting his leave.”
