The House of Flowers’ has undoubtedly been one of the best non-English language shows on Netflix. It has comedy, it has drama and most importantly, the show has an engaging story. After the massive success of the series, ‘The House of Flowers’ is getting a movie treatment, thanks to Netflix.

Yes, you heard it right. The streaming platform is coming out with a movie with your favorite characters and has already dropped the first trailer for the much-awaited spin-off movie, which picks up right where we left off in the popular series.

The Mexican movie sees Delia (Norma Angelica) revealing a secret to Paulina (Cecilia Suarez) about the treasure hidden inside the De La Mora family’s home. Paulina embarks on a journey to track it down. However, things take a U-turn when it is found that she needs to gain the access to her old house in order for the hunt to begin. The upcoming project is a part of Netflix's $300 million investment in over 50 Mexico-​shot originals slated for 2021 release. Here’s everything we know about the Mexican movie.

Air time and how to live stream

As per the Netflix press site, the highly-anticipated movie will air on the streaming platform on Wednesday, June 23 at 3 am ET. Subscribers can opt for Netflix’s free trial to watch the show. All three seasons are currently streaming on the platform. Apart from that, viewers can also subscribe to various premium plans offered by Netflix.

Plot

The official synopsis reads, “While waiting to be intervened on a delicate surgery, Delia reveals a secret to Paulina: in her parents' room there is a hiding place that protects, among other things, a family treasure and the evidence against Agustín Corcuera, recently absolved for the murder of Pato. By tricking them, Paulina convinces her brothers to outwit the security measures of their ex-home and recover the treasure. Their plan unfolds at the same time that, in the '80s, Virginia and Ernesto carry out theirs to obtain Agustin ́s confession. The love for her nanny, and the possibility of avenging their family, will make the de la Mora break all rules to achieve this seemingly impossible mission.”

Cast

All the original cast members are returning for the spin-off movie. Norma Angelica will be back as Delia while Cecilia Suarez will be once again playing the role of Paulina. Additionally, the project also sees the return of Dario Yazbek (Julian), Aislinn Derbez (Elena), Juan Pablo Medina (Diego), Paco Leon (Jose María) and Luis de la Rosa (Bruno).

Creators

The movie is being helmed by Manolo Caro, who also directed various episodes of the original series. Caro has been one of the prominent names in the Mexican entertainment industry and has produced some of the acclaimed projects like ‘Tales of an Immoral Couple’ and ‘Someone Has to Die’.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Nuncio has once again penned the script for the upcoming feature. Caro, Maria Jose Cordova, and Rafael Ley serve as executive producers on the movie.

In the trailer, we see that the family’s maid, Delia (Norma Angélica), is on her deathbed and she tells Paulina (Cecilia Suarez) about the hidden treasure inside the De La Mora family’s home. However, the new owner of the house doesn’t let her in. But she has a plan to achieve what she wants to.
