Viewers may have felt that the episode felt quite final and there's a reason for that

Spoiler Alert for 'The House of Flowers'/'La Casa de Las Flores'

When Manolo Caro's 'The House of Flowers' aka 'La Casa de Las Flores' arrived on Netflix nearly two years ago, we never thought we would be drawn into the de la Mora family's drama this much. We met the patriarch Ernesto, the matriarch Virginia, and their three children — Paulina, Elena, and Julian.

We learned about the dysfunctional dynamics between the members of the upper-class Mexican family — Paulina's control issues, Elena's addiction to sex, and Julian's uncertainty. The titular flower shop is from Virginia's side of the family.

Meanwhile, Ernesto had a mistress Roberta, who also narrates the show, and was helping Ernesto run his side business, a drag cabaret named 'The House of Flowers' — of course, we also saw that Roberta ended her life in the very first episode, setting into motion everything that came after.

Soon after Season two was announced, it was revealed that Veronica Castro, the legendary Mexican actress who plays the de la Mora matriarch, will not be returning for more seasons. We thought Virginia's story would be over there, but in Season 3, we were blessed with flashbacks to Veronica's past which showed us how she ended up being pregnant and how she ended up marrying Ernesto who was in the past only her best friend.

In the final episode of Season 3, Paulina gets married to Maria Jose — whom she was previously married to before the latter's transition and has a son with. Meanwhile, Elena gave birth to a boy who was named Patricio, Paulina's real father. Elena will be bringing up Patricio with her new beau, her brother Julian, and Julian's boyfriend Diego.

Diego had an eventful season — we learned that he wanted nothing more than to have a child, and at one point he might have even been willing to risk Elena's life to make sure to have that. A lot of Diego's issues stemmed from his parents' rejection of him because of his preferences. In the final episode, Diego finally stands up for himself and his identity in front of his parents.

Paulina also had a significant season. For the first few episodes, she was in prison — but she displayed immense growth in the episodes after. Watching Paulina change from the selfish and controlling person she was to a more mature and considerate person was cool to see. A lot of it came because she also learned more about her past and who her father really was — her real father Patricio was killed in a homophobic attack.

Moreover, we also learn that Virginia's father Victoria was responsible for a lot of mishaps. She forced Virginia to marry after the latter got pregnant, killed her husband, and hid the truth from Virginia — Victoria even tried to poison Elena after she learned that Elena was pregnant.

Victoria finally got her comeuppance but that meant the de la Mora family's home and business were no longer their own. As the final episode of Season 3 ends, the de la Mora siblings finalize the sale of the home they grew up in — and while they fought amongst each other to inherit it in the first season, now they move on together.

Viewers may have felt that the episode felt quite final and there's a reason for that. Season 3 is the final season of 'The House of Flowers', the show's creator, Manolo Caro had said in the past that he envisions just three seasons for the show. But for once, this Netflix show ends in a satisfactory manner after its third season.

All episodes of 'The House of Flowers' are now streaming on Netflix.
