'The Great British Baking Show': Tent's temperature causing bake fails? Fans say 'start filming up North'
Tempering chocolate is not easy as it requires to be done in a temperature-controlled environment. Unfortunately, the iconic tent of 'The Great British Baking Show' doesn't allow chocolate desserts or confections to be made the way it's supposed to. Often, the finished products don't turn out the way it's supposed to because the heat has always been a challenge.
And to make matters worse, Prue Leith tasked the finalists, Peter Sawkins, Dave Friday, and Laura Adlington, to create batches of walnut whirls, which require a good amount of chocolate. The finished confection is supposed to be wrapped in a crisp chocolate shell. It was part of the final technical challenge, which the bakers had a hard time acing because the temperature had become a major issue.
Meanwhile, fans are disappointed that the showrunners have continued to film in the tent, which is not apt for certain bakes. Some even suggested that the showrunners should start filming in a different location.
"Rewatching #GBBO, and hear me out: if they don’t want things to be “messy” MAYBE HAVE A TEMPERATURE-CONTROLED TENT," a fan commented, while another shared: "So tired of #GBBO with their constant temperature dramas (obviously that's why the producers do it) Just provide a suitable environment for bakers and let the bakes be properly judged. What's the point of a challenge with chocolate, when the chocolate can't set?!"

Just provide a suitable environment for bakers and let the bakes be properly judged.

"If they’re going to continue making GBBO be in a tent then they can’t keep setting temperature dependent bakes for contestants. Remember when they made an ice cream cake - in the middle of the summer, in an outdoor tent #gbbo #GBBOFinal," a user pointed out, while another tweeted: "Think they need to start filming #GBBO up north. Temperature in those tents wouldn’t be an issue #apocolipticweather."
"I still don’t get why they don’t give them the benefit of the doubt with the temperature it’s been against them all season #GBBO," one viewer wondered. "Serious question, why do they do this in a tent? The temperature plays havoc with some of the bakes. #GBBO #GBBOFinal," a viewer posted.
