While the CW show 'The Flash' flourishes and strengthens its fanbase, the solo film on the scarlet speedster has not been so lucky. The Ezra Miller film has been in the works for ages and been pushed to the backburner. Yet, lately, there has been a surge of updates about the film and there's good news for the fans: It's on the cards. The film is expected to explore the idea of Flashpoint, which is an alternate timeline.

One rumor doing the rounds is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be back to play the Flashpoint Batman. A report says that though talks are yet to officially begin, Morgan is being considered to play the Flashpoint version of Batman, one in a world where Bruce and Martha Wayne were killed that fateful night in the alley instead of Thomas and Martha.

Last September, Morgan had told ComicBook.com that he'd still be interested in reprising the role of Thomas Wayne, which he first played in a flashback scene in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'. "Look, I don't know, I mean if there's a chance that would ask me, I'd say yes," Morgan said. "I think the Flashpoint story is, it's my favorite story. I would love to do it. But, you know, DC is DC and they're, you know, it's a constant... it seems like they're always kinda switching up who's running it and what they're gonna do. So hopefully, what I'd like to see is a little continuity with DC, have them get on the track, and then, man I'd be honored and love to do it more than anything."

Fans are praying that the Flashpoint rumors are true. "JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN AS FLASHPOINT BATMAN HELL YEAH!!" a fan wrote. "If they do flashpoint in The Flash movie, I can see The Batman being set in the past and Flash bringing young Bruce (Pattinson) to the present, maybe Dick Grayson too. That would be interesting," another fan pondered.

"Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne Batman is the only reason I’m excited about Flashpoint. Besides that, it’s way too early for DC to be doing this movie. This is something you do after Justice League 3 but whatever," a fan tweeted. "Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast as Thomas Wayne specially so he could play flashpoint batman I mean come on he's perfect yes it's way to early to do flashpoint but come on we have to see this," a fan wrote.

"I heard someone say it this way; you don’t hire Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne unless you want him to be the Flashpoint’s Batman!" another tweeted. "If this really is Flashpoint then OMG Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne Batman and Lauren Cohen as Martha Wayne Joker. That is just an incredible idea no matter what. But it is a little odd that they're kind of undermining The Flash's own movie with other JL characters," a fan wrote.
