LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Well, if Kate (Keri Russell) believed that half of her problems have gone after making the President understand that the US shouldn’t be sending ships into the Gulf. However, she is still part of the entire situation because she is torn between her relationships and the ongoing international crisis. Kate did make everyone understand that Iran is not behind the attack, but unfortunately, Eidra is unable to prove that Iran is not behind the attack and they are not getting any substantial information from her intelligence sources. They decide that they should talk to Iran without involving Shahin.

Meanwhile, Trowbridge continues to give fiery speeches in front of the public to get all the support. In his speech during Episode 3 of 'The Diplomat', he talks about how the US President has taken the decision not to send ships into the Gulf. People are not in support of the US’s decision and this is one more thing that Kate has now to worry about. Trowbridge (Rory Kinnear) is trying everything to put the US in the line of fire, but Kate won’t let him do that.

Are Kate and Hal getting divorced?

Kate continues to face questions about not taking up the Vice President position. However, she tells everyone that she is getting a divorce. As soon as Stuart hears that, she tells Kate to come up with a plan that would suit the couple. The entire conversation changes when Kate gets to know that someone has summoned the Iranian Ambassador. He has not been summoned by Dennison, which means Iran is ready to be a part of this conversation. They put together a plan to meet the Iranian Ambassador and they finally did that. During the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador reveals a name: “Roman Lenkov, Russian Mercenaries,” and we get an idea of why the Ambassador is unable to reveal who did the attack. The reason why he can’t reveal the name is that Iran and Russia are allies.

However, things turn bad to worse when the Iranian Ambassador collapses while drinking tea inside Dennison’s office. They call the medical team to save his life and take him to a medical facility. He dies in the room, but Kate tells everyone that he should be pronounced dead at the hospital.

Who is behind the attack?

When this grave situation ends, Kate and Dennison are terrified to learn that Russia was behind the attack. They can’t reveal what the Ambassador said before he died. Now, they are thinking about how to pass the information and leak everything through other channels.

It’s still not confirmed if the Russians are truly behind the attack, but Kate finally has some information that might prove to be important in this case.
