'The Circle,' a Netflix original series, is returning with new plot twists, emoji-filled conversations, and a dash of women power. The season debut enthralled audiences, especially with two new contestants!

Season 4 premiered on May 4th, featuring four new episodes and an unexpected twist: Melanie "Mel B" Brown and Emma Bunton, members of the Spice Girls, entered the reality show using a catfish profile in the hopes of duping the majority of the contestants and increasing the prize pool from $100,000 to $150,000. Jared, a "big animal lover with a soft spot for cheese" who outlines himself as "quirky and loyal" and intends to "one day travel the world with the love of my life," made his first appearance on 'The Circle' in Episode 2. Seems legit, doesn't it? In the Circle chat, Emma and Mel B. kept things ambiguous, suggesting that Jared published books about animals and feces. There are no titles, only emoticons, and feelings.

With Spice Girls in attendance, a '90s dance party felt fitting. Everyone starts dancing and lip-syncing to the group's legendary hit, "Wannabe," including Mel B. and Emma. The participants were also told that Spice Girls were catfishing within them and that they had to vote for the profile that Mel B. and Emma were associated with. If the Spice Girls duped enough people, the cash award would be doubled to $150,000! Mel B. and Emma continued their quest in Episode 4, even saying that Jared's sister was a Spice Girls fan to knock everyone off guard. Then there was the Spice Girls trivia game, in which they minimized Jared's knowledge with the group by omitting a question concerning the name of the Spice Girls movie.

Fans howled at their screens after learning that their beloved 90s legends were sharing the same space as this season's contestants. Mel B. and Emma's brief appearance at the end of the first episode was enough to pique viewers' interest and get them excited about the remainder of the season. One of the fans resorted to Twitter to express their feelings, writing: "The Spice Girls appear for 0.3 seconds in the #TheCircle premiere and they were the best 0.3 seconds of my life"

Fans also liked how invested the Spice Girls were in the game and how they weren't just there for the sake of it. This not only enriches the game but also keeps viewers glued to their screens. One fan tweeted: "the way the spice girls are so into the game is sooo endearing!!! #thecircle"

With episode 4 ending on a cliffhanger, it will be interesting to see if the Spice Girls are successful in duping the contestants and ultimately helping the winner make MORE MONEY! Sadly, you'll have to wait to find out if the remaining contestants are successful in identifying the profile behind which they believe the Spice Girls are playing. Episodes 5-8 will be available on May 11th.
