LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the superhero genre continues to dominate the entertainment landscape, 'The Boys' has emerged as a refreshing and gritty take on the superhero archetype.

Developed by Eric Kripke and based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show presents a world where superheroes, or 'Supes', are not the noble protectors they're often depicted as, but rather flawed individuals manipulated by corporate interests and prone to abuse of power.

With each season, 'The Boys' introduces new characters and explores the complexities of its existing ones. As fans eagerly await Season 4, slated to premiere on Prime Video, anticipation is high to see which Supes will return.

While popular characters like Homelander and Starlight often steal the spotlight, there are several underrated Supes whose return promises to add depth and intrigue to the upcoming season.

Here are five underrated Supes we hope to see returning in 'The Boys' Season 4.

Black Noir

Often overshadowed by the bombastic personalities of his fellow Seven members, Black Noir is a mysterious and enigmatic character whose true identity remains shrouded in secrecy.

Despite his minimal dialogue, his actions speak volumes, making him a compelling presence whenever he graces the screen.

Black Noir was a key member of The Seven from the start. But the person under the mask now can't be the same one from before. Homelander discovered that Black Noir knew about his father, Soldier Boy and that he was still alive.

In a fit of rage, Homelander brutally killed Black Noir and left the body behind. Black Noir doesn't have the ability to heal from such an attack, so whoever is inside the suit in Season 4 must be a new character, yet to be revealed.

With his lethal combat skills and unwavering loyalty to Vought, Black Noir's return is sure to bring suspense and intensity to Season 4.

Queen Maeve

As one of the original members of The Seven, Queen Maeve aka Maggie Shaw has endured her fair share of struggles, grappling with her conscience in a world where heroism is often synonymous with exploitation.

Despite her flaws, Maeve possesses a moral compass that sets her apart from many of her colleagues, making her a sympathetic and relatable character.

As she navigates the murky waters of Vought's influence, her return promises to shed light on the inner workings of the superhero hierarchy.

A-Train

A-Train, known for his lightning speed, has traveled a rocky road from being an arrogant speedster to a disgraced former member of The Seven. Despite his flaws, A-Train is a complex character wrestling with his ambitions and conscience.

Throughout his tenure on the elite hero team, A-Train has been a source of controversy. However, his actions have shown Homelander that he fears him more than he desires fame and wealth.

Despite appearing conflicted in the trailer for 'The Boys' Season 4, A-Train remains a loyal follower of Homelander, willing to betray others to earn his leader's favor.

Until he finds the courage to stand on his own, he remains firmly in Homelander's shadow, potentially becoming a key player in overthrowing him.

His return in Season 4 holds the promise of further character growth and exploration as he grapples with the consequences of his actions.

Kimiko/ The Female

Kimiko Miyashiro, also known as The Female, has been a mysterious presence in 'The Boys', initially portrayed as a mute girl with remarkable abilities.

She shares a close bond with Frenchie and has proven her worth by saving her friends multiple times. With super strength, rapid healing, agility, and endurance, Kimiko is a formidable ally.

As a former subject of Vought's experiments, Kimiko's past is marked by trauma. However, she has found solace and purpose within The Boys, forming a new family. Her silent yet fierce demeanor adds depth to the cast, and her return in Season 4 promises to shed light on her past and ongoing quest for redemption.

In the upcoming season, Kimiko stands alongside Starlight and The Boys, united in their mission to dismantle the corrupt system that allows Supes to act with impunity at the expense of humanity.

Their only goal is to expose Vought's secrets and break free from its control.

Lamplighter

Debuting in Season 2, Lamplighter emerges as a pivotal character, bearing the heavy burden of his past actions as a former member of The Seven. Initially portrayed in an antagonistic light, Lamplighter's journey towards redemption offers a poignant exploration of morality within the universe of 'The Boys'.

As Season 4 approaches, Lamplighter's return holds the promise of closure to his character arc. Viewers eagerly anticipate the opportunity to delve deeper into his motivations and witness the continuation of his redemption journey.

With his complex backstory and internal struggles, Lamplighter's presence is sure to enrich the narrative, potentially paving the way for further exploration of the intricate web of morality and consequence within the series.

As 'The Boys' continues to subvert expectations and delve deeper into the moral gray areas of the superhero genre, the return of these underrated Supes promises to enrich the show's narrative and captivate audiences once again.

With each character bringing their own struggles, motivations, and moral dilemmas to the forefront, Season 4 is balanced to be another thrilling chapter in the ongoing saga of 'The Boys'.
