LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The awards season is already underway and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has made a bombastic entry by announcing the shortlists for 10 categories at the upcoming Academy Awards. A lot of big movies were included in several categories such as Best Sound, Makeup and Hairstyling, Visual Effects, and many more. However, fans were left stunned when they got to know that the Academy left out Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ from one category in which it was supposed to be a frontrunner.

In one of the most shocking news, Michael Giacchino’s extraordinary score for ‘The Batman’ failed to make the shortlist for Best Original Score. The reason it came as a shock to everyone is that all the Oscars experts believed that Giacchino’s epic music for the superhero movie, starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role, will undoubtedly be nominated at the Oscars and was already being touted as one of the frontrunners to win the trophy. Sadly, it couldn’t even make it to the shortlist.

Before even the movie was released, viewers were already hooked to the film’s music and entered several musical charts, making it one of the most-streamed musical scores of 2022 when it comes to compositions made for films. Every review of the movie praised the film's score and called it one of the year's best. So, it doesn't come as a shock that the Academy's decision was met with angry reactions.

As soon as the shortlists for several categories surfaced online, fans went berserk on social media after they couldn’t see ‘The Batman’ in the Original Score shortlist. A lot of fans called the decision utter “bulls**t” while others questioned the inclusion of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ in the list. One of the fans wrote, “The academy really snubbed the best film score of the year.” Another fan wrote, “It‘s literally impossible. Michael Giacchino did an amazing job with his theme.” Another social media user tweeted, “This is a crime.”

“The Batman's score didn't get on the Oscars shortlist so I blocked Harry Styles,” said another fan. “Don't Worry Darling over THE BATMAN? F**k this s**t I'm out,” wrote another one. “THE BATMAN not even making the Oscar shortlist for Best Original Score is criminal,” wrote Matt Neglia, a renowned entertainment journalist.
