WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND: Last week, 'The Bachelorette' Season 21, left the viewers on the edge of their seats as the episode concluded with a jaw-dropping twist. Jenn Tran's former flame, Matt Rossi, made a grand gesture by traveling across the globe to profess his feelings for her. The unexpected arrival of Jenn's ex left fans eagerly awaiting the next episode to see how this shocking development will impact the already tense dynamics among the contestants.

In the fifth episode of the ABC dating show, Jenn was getting ready to have a conversation with Matt, meanwhile, her potential suitors anxiously awaited the start of the cocktail party, hoping for a peaceful evening without any drama. Their wish for a drama-free night seemed to come true, as there was a surprising twist - there was no cocktail party at all.

After listening to Matt explain his plans, Jenn ultimately decided that their relationship had reached its conclusion. Rather than allowing him to continue on with the group, she chose to send him back home. Despite acknowledging the connection they shared, she believed that her true partner was among the men gathered downstairs.

However, the viewers of the show have been outraged and vocalized their frustrations over Jenn's decision to cancel the cocktail party on the ABC program.

An X user said, "Jenn’s decisions keep baffling me. “Not fair” to have a cocktail party? Not fair to who??? Definitely not the guys." Another user chimed in, "Damn no cocktail party?!! What is Jenn thinking?"

A third user went on to say, "NO COCKTAIL PARTY AGAIN?!?! WHOAAAAA." This was followed by a user who penned, "Jenn coming in and canceling the cocktail party is crazy they didn’t send Jesse??"

Another social media user exclaimed, "*Me when i want to leave some place early* I’m canceling the cocktail party." One user quipped, "We gotta stop letting cocktail parties get cancelled every episode."

Who went home on 'The Bachelorette' Season 21 Episode 5?

In the fifth episode of 'The Bachelorette' Season 21, Jenn Tran made the decision to send her former flame, Matt Rossi, packing. Following that, she bid farewell to Thomas Nguyen and John Mitchell in the ABC reality competition.

Along with this, viewers also saw Austin Ott self-eliminate after realizing his bond with Jenn wasn't as deep as he had hoped. And to cap off the episode, Dylan Buckor was sadly eliminated from the running for Jenn's heart.

Why did Austin Ott leave 'The Bachelorette' Season 21?

During a group outing at a farm, Austin and the other guys notice Devin Strader, one of Jenn's top contenders, engaging in deep conversation with her and stealing the spotlight. Devin ended up winning the best farmer award, which was expected given his skills.

However, Austin's decision to leave the group date seemed to stem from a deeper realization about his own connection with Jenn and the progress of their relationship.

"Obviously coming into this, I told you I was always gonna be honest and upfront with you at every moment I can, and I just feel like I've been playing catch up this whole time, I really do," Austin told Jenn.

'The Bachelorette' contestant further added, "You have some amazing guys here that are ready to give you absolutely everything that you deserve, and with the way that things have gone for me in this journey, I don't think that I can do that."

Austin had not been able to establish a strong bond with Jenn as he had anticipated. Despite joining the show with the intention of pursuing a relationship with her, he was aware of the close connections she had formed with the other contestants.

Additionally, he had a feeling that he might not receive a rose in the upcoming ceremony, leading him to believe that distancing himself from Jenn could be a form of self-protection.
