'Bachelor' star Lauren Bushnell Lane is pregnant, here's a look at her love story with country singer Chris Lane
Country star Chris Lane and Bachelor alum Lauren Bushnell Lane just announced some good news – they are expecting a baby. On Sunday, December 6, the couple announced the news on Instagram that they are expecting their first child. The duo shared a video of the ultrasound on social media. In the background, Chris' song ‘Big, Big Plans’ can be heard. Lauren captioned it: “A dream. Except I’m not dreaming. I’m wide awake. Holding your dads hand, watching you dance around in my belly. Listening to your little heart beat. My new favorite sound. A miracle. New life. Our sweet baby. Thank you Jesus! All the glory belongs to You.” Chris also shared the video on his page and wrote: “Prayer works! Hope you look like your Mama @laurenlane.”
Lauren shared exclusively with People about how she got to know about her pregnancy and the moment she told her husband. “I just had a feeling so I took a pregnancy test. There really wasn’t anything physical happening; I just had a funny feeling I was pregnant,” she said. She continued, “I took a test and believe I was about three-and-a-half weeks at that point, so the second line was very faint. I showed Chris and he didn’t believe the test. We went to the store together and bought a digital test and it clearly read ‘pregnant.’ I think I took about 10 more still in disbelief!. Because I was so early we both were shocked but cautiously optimistic.” Lauren added, “It was very exciting but now feels even more real seeing the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat. We are just soaking it all in.”
Chris and Lauren’s love story
According to People, they started dating in 2018, three years after meeting at a radio event. The following year, he proposed to her in the backyard of her family’s Oregon home. He had told People at that time, “I knew she wouldn’t want some elaborate crazy proposal. So, I decided to keep it pretty casual. I asked her parents for different places in Portland I could potentially take her to, but after a lot of thought I decided doing it at the family cookout would be the most laid-back setting and that she’d appreciate the simplicity of me proposing to her in her parents’ backyard.”
He played the song ‘Big, Big Plans’ during the proposal, which he wrote for her. Chris decided on a 3.5 carat, emerald-cut diamond ring after going shopping with Lauren a few months before the proposal “just for fun.” He said, “Watching her try on rings, I learned she loves emerald-cut diamonds. I even heard her say that was the exact kind of ring she wanted. Thankfully she made it pretty easy to pick out!”
They wed in 2019 in front of around 160 family members and friends in an indoor “secret garden” ceremony in their hometown of Nashville. For her wedding dress, she chose Nashville designer Olia Zavozina. “The dress is such a statement in itself, but it just fit me so well, and I was so comfortable. I felt like I was wearing a slip dress. I feel elegant, classic. It feels like myself. It’s perfect, and I seriously could not be happier,” she had told People at that time.
