All contestants of 'The Amazing Race' are awarded money. The show that has been running successfully for 32 seasons, takes eleven teams in pairs with a preexisting relationship (as seen in most cases) and sends them to one of the most famous races across the world.

With eight rounds of elimination, the final three pairs go compete in the finale to win the grand prize of a whopping $1 million! Having said that, each of the ten losing teams also gets rewarded with a cash prize of varying amounts.

Apart from this, there are also smaller prizes up for grabs, in cash as well as paid trips, cars. That being said, the information on the exact amount is unclear by CBS, since the rest of the participants are awarded in terms of compensation for their efforts. According to Men's Health, every team does get some form of pay, one way or another.

With $1 million being the grand prize for the first place winners, Men's Health also revealed that the runners-up get an amount of $25,000 to split between them, while the team that comes in third wins an amount of $10,000. The team in 11th place gets the lowest cash prize of $1,500, while the team placing in the 10th position gets awarded $2,500. From here, the winnings increase by $500 all the way up, to 4th place.

The winners of 'The Amazing Race' can make a world of change with their earnings, for obvious reasons. Similarly in the case of the second and third place winners. Having said that, the competitive adventure of the race in itself, with the added bonus of being able to take home a little money is more than enough to make the whole experience worthwhile.

Season 33 of 'The Amazing Race' premieres on January 5, 2022, at 8 pm ET on CBS.
