Pauly Shore proposes Drew Barrymore
It all started when toward the end of Friday’s episode, Shore admitted to the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star that he is currently not in a relationship because of his fear of getting hurt.
He said, "It's very, very difficult for me to have a girlfriend," before adding, "because it's hard for me to let love in because I'm scared to get hurt," per Entertainment Weekly.
When Barrymore replied by questioning his reason for fear, Shore replied, “Well, I want to do it with the right person. That's the most important thing," before continuing that his ideal partner would be his "best friend."
He then continued to explain his idea of a perfect partner, saying, "Someone that, it's not about sex, it's not about how you look, it's about, 'Yo, let's go get a sandwich.' You know what I mean? More of a friendship."
Barrymore replied poignantly, "Well, I want you to find that friend and companion that you never have sex with," before adding, "and that you walk the dog and eat and hang out and — well, maybe occasional sex, but have the best friendship with."
The emotional tone of the situation got further heightened when the ‘Son in Law’ star admitted how Barrymore was appreciative of his late mother Mitzi Shore throughout the episode.
Barrymore then replied by saying Mitzi, who was the owner of the Comedy Store was "one of my personal idols."
It was then Shore said to Barrymore, "What Drew doesn't know is that my mother was not happy when you married Tom Green," referring to Barrymore's former husband whom she wed in 2001 before divorcing in 2002.
He also continued to narrate what his mother told him then, saying, "And she said to me, she goes, 'Pauly, Drew should marry you.'"
A surprised Barrymore replied, "That's how Mitzi felt?"
Shore, however, laughingly answered, "No, that's how I feel too."
He continued, "And that's why I came here tonight, on this glorious night, to present you with a ring," before dropping on one knee in the most classical style possible and taking out the sparkly ring.
Barrymore could not contain her shock and exclaimed, "Are you proposing, Pauly?" before replying, "I duly wed," and added amid the audience’s loud cheer, "Might as well, right? I mean, it makes sense!"
Barrymore took the ring and appreciated the jewel and said it was "an amazing engagement ring, by the way."
She, however, did not reply to the question immediately and urged her fans to watch the show’s next episode for her answer.
She nevertheless added, "This has been a wild ride!" and said, "Pauly Shore, I love you so much!"
Thus the entire scenario left the fans wondering whether it was a joke. However, another section of the fans supported Shore in his endeavor.

Someone else cheered, "I know it seems like a brilliant bit to promote the one man show but I don't think Pauly is that cynical. To me, it also feels like it's a little genuine. They would make a wonderful couple. Love him."
