'Not the Amy we knew': Friends of 'compassionate' mom-of-3 Amy Anderson STUNNED by news she killed 2 cops
OCEAN SPRINGS, MISSISSIPPI: Loved ones of the veterinarian mother who died shooting dead two Mississippi cops in front of her 8-year-old daughters have expressed their utter disbelief. Amy Anderson, 43, killed Sergeant Steven Robin, 34, and Officer Branden Estorffe, 23 of the Bay St Louis Police after they responded to a welfare check call on December 14. Anderson died from a fatal chest wound. However, police are probing if she died by a self-inflicted wound or in the crossfire.
The mother of three and veterinarian was described as a "compassionate person" who was recently employed by the Lakeview animal hospital. Anderson's devasted relative, Breanne Anderson Simmons, penned an emotional post on Facebook thanking her friends and family for their support during this difficult time. "I wanted to post and say that we are deeply saddened and so appreciative of your kind words to us," she wrote. "Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts & prayers."

A friend of Simmon's commented on the post saying she was shocked and saddened to hear this news before claiming, "This is not the Amy that we all knew so well." The comment read, "Girl. I'm so saddened to hear this news about Amy. That is not the Amy that we all knew so well. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Don't let the social media bullies get to y'all." A former colleague of Anderson said it had only been 33 days since she was employed at the Lakeview animal hospital.
The mother of three children was professionally described as a "very, very compassionate person" who "cried over a bearded lizard" that was being treated at the practice, reported Daily Mail. The source added it is "hard to assess somebody" who you've only known for a few weeks, claiming that Anderson's actions are "definitely not something they would've expected or seen coming." The girlfriend of one of the cops gunned down during duty posted a heartbreaking tribute to the fallen officer.
Madison Bartlett called Brendan Estorffe her "best friend" and the "most selfless man I know" alongside a carousel of pictures. Officer Estorfee was shot dead and lying in a pool of blood when the police arrived and rushed him to Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Bartlett noted the father of her child being "narcissistic" and "abusive," while crediting Estorffe with teaching her "what it's like to be loved," reported the source. She added that Estorffe loved her daughter Baylor "as if she were your own. You were patient, kind and living." "The most selfless person I know. I don't want this life without you." She continued, "I love you forever Branden Estorffe," wrote the heartbroken woman.
