Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert: Getting secretly hitched to welcoming baby Rue Rose, a look at their love story

This year in June, Taylor revealed that Erykah Badu would be delivering her second child and she gave birth to Rue Rose in the bathtub

R&B singer Teyana Taylor and NBA player Iman Shumpert welcomed their second child together on September 6, 2020. Iman took to Twitter to tell fans about the newborn with an adorable video of the baby.

In a heartfelt post, Iman wrote: "At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!! Now... when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy... but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital! Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore! A healthy child. A little sister. Another daughter. Black love wins.... again. Welcome babygirl... we love you! @babyruerose."

This year in June, Taylor revealed to Nick Cannon Radio that Erykah Badu would be delivering her second child. She said, "I’m considering home birth and I’m actually gonna be doing it with Erykah (Badu). You know, I feel like if I did it once without any type of warning, I could do it this time fully prepared. Giving birth like that was scary but it was such a powerful thing," she added.

Back in 2018, Taylor revealed in 'The Wendy Williams Show', the backstory of how she met the love of her life. She said that initially, she played hard to get. "I didn't like him at first," Taylor said. "When I first met him, he had just gotten drafted. He was young and doing a lot. I was at a party. He was drunk and had his shirt off. It was just too much going on, baby." The couple met in 2014 and became friends and eventually fell in love with each other. In September 2015, the couple announced that they'll be welcoming their first child together. Iman shared on Instagram: "I couldn't be more happy than to share my first child with the woman I intended to have my family with. Iman Taylor Shumpert Jr is expected to enter this world '1.16.16'."

Iman popped the question to Taylor at their royal-themed baby shower. The basketball player chose a gorgeous ruby red ring to propose to the singer. In an interview with ESSENCE, Taylor said that all she and her husband are trying to do is show the good, bad and in between of marriage and parenthood. "We're here to inspire couples. People see the glitz and glamour. That’s 10% (of it.) They don’t really get to see that 90% of the blood, sweat and tears."

Back in 2018, the couple also aired on 'Teyana and Iman', a TV show which focused on their life and relationship. The show's description reads: "Executive produced by and starring Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor-Shumpert, this half-hour reality series follows the newlyweds as they balance their careers, marriage and raising their daughter — all while being under the pressure of the spotlight."

In a promo for the show, Shumpert and Taylor sit on a couch with Junie making mischief in the background, talking about why they wanted to do a reality show: "It’s so important to be a positive representation of Black love that my a** actually got on TV to do it,” Shumpert says, with Taylor later adding, “It is to inspire love, period.” Meanwhile, Junie puts a lollipop in her mouth that has just been on the floor and the shot ends with Taylor arguing that “you guys should tune in because of Junie". We agree!

As soon as the fans came to know about the news, people started congratulating the couple, as one user tweeted, "@TEYANATAYLOR and @imanshumpert are the pros at 'Home Birth' I’m so proud of y’all with delivering dauthaaaaaa #2 Rue Rose congratulations!!!!"

While some commended Taylor for giving a natural birth, by saying, "Teyana Taylor clearly takes natural birthing like a freakin CHAMP! Baby in the bathroom 2x! Go ahead sis!" and "Teyana Taylor gave birth in her bathroom again man women are the STRONGEST."

While some fans showered love saying, "I love you I admire your strength bruh... When I was 16 I wanted to be like you..and as an admirer girl to girl I pray to be In your presence fan to art. Love you Muva!!"

Taylor famously gave birth to her first-born daughter, Iman 'Junie Bug' Shumpert Jr, in the bathroom of her home back in 2015. Junie’s birth came with a little warning as Taylor was on the phone with her mother when her water broke. Iman Shumpert Sr, with the help of a 911 operator, delivered the couple’s first daughter.
