'Our hearts are broken': Family of missing Texas student Tanner Hoang who was later found dead pays tribute
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Devastated family members of deceased Texas A&M University student Tanner Hoang have taken to social media to remember him. Hoang, 22, was found dead in Austin on Saturday, December 24. He was last seen at The Trails at Wolf Pen apartment complex in College Station on December 16. Hoang was reportedly found dead in the water near the Penny-backer Bridge on Loop 360.
"Thank you so much for everyone who has prayed, helped in any way, or offered your support in our search for Tanner. He is now in Jesus loving and strong arms enjoying His presence. Our family misses Tanner dearly but will remember him as a faithful and joyful friend, son, grandson, brother, cousin, and nephew. We love you Tanner," his uncle Bao Hoang wrote on Facebook.

Another heartbroken family member, Quan Hoang, wrote, "Tanner, we will always miss and love you, my nephew and brother in Christ. Thank you for so many wonderful and joyful memories that you gave us. Our hearts are broken, yet we have the surest hope in Christ that you are in His loving arms, completely healed and restored. We love you so much and look forward to being reunited with you again in His presence."

Hoang's silver 2009 Lexus was found near Pennybacker Bridge Overlook Trail at Highway 360 and the Colorado River on Friday, December 23, 2022. It appeared as though he had been driving westbound on Highway 21 after stopping to get gas at a Shell station in nearby Caldwell, New York Post reported. There is reportedly no foul play involved in Hoang's death, a Facebook page dedicated to finding the missing student said. The College Station Police Department has not released any additional information about the circumstances of his death.
