Heidi Broussard’s friend pretended to be ‘sick’ over her disappearance, even offered to help in the search
HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS: The friend accused of kidnapping Texas mom Heidi Broussard - whose body was later found stuffed in car trunk in Jersey in Jersey Village, Harris County, northwest of Houston - had pretended to be “sick” over the latter's disappearance and claimed that victim's three-week-old child was hers when the police found the missing infant.
According to a spokesperson from the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, Magen Fieramusca, 33, was charged on Friday, December 20, with two counts of kidnapping and one count of tampering with a corpse. A source told the Statesman that Fieramusca was secretly plotting to steal the baby throughout Broussard's pregnancy. She was with Heidi when she gave birth to her baby last month.
MEAWW had reported earlier that Broussard, 33, was last seen dropping her 6-year-old son off at Cowan Elementary School in Austin. She was reported missing on December 12 along with her infant daughter, Margot Carey. While the victim's body was discovered in a car parked outside Fieramusca’s home Thursday, the child was discovered unharmed in a baby swing inside the house.
When the police questioned the suspect about the child being found in her house, she told the authorities that it was her daughter. Investigators later discovered that she had faked her pregnancy around the same time that Broussard became pregnant and even claimed a “due date” for December 1. She also set up a Target baby registry and showed off her made-up baby bump to her neighbors and former attorney, Radar Online reported.
Caressa Nolte, a friend of the victim, who also knew the suspect, told KHOU that Fieramusca pretended to have no idea where Broussard was and showed interest in wanting to assist in the search of the missing mother.
“I talked to Magen every day,” Nolte said. “She’s been like sick over this.”
Tim Miller, who owns a Texas search party operation which organized efforts to find Broussard, also said that there were no red flags when it came to Fieramusca's reaction to her friend's disappearance.
“There was not a single indication she had anything to do with it,” Miller said. “She said ‘Mr. Miller thank you for what you’re doing.’ She says ‘I’m going to keep talking to people and everything and if I come up with anything, is it OK if I call you?'”
