'Teen Mom' alum Jenelle Evans notices PTSD symptoms after terrifying incident

OAK ISLAND, NORTH CAROLINA: Jenelle Evans uploaded a TikTok video where 'Teen Mom' alum revealed that an intruder broke into her house last Sunday. The hazardous event took place on February 24, 2024, after which she was left "afraid of the dark."

Jenelle admitted, "I'm officially afraid of the dark; let me explain..." She went on to claim that a week ago, she experienced a break-in with an intruder while being home alone with her three kids. Last Saturday, Jenelle went to sleep around 12:30 in the night. At 1:00, her Ring doorbell went off.

Jenelle said that the intruder was "at my building, outside." A little later, Jenelle's dogs started barking. She woke up and went to her lingerie room to check if it was her husband, David Eason. She said, "I turned on my light and looked out the back door, and it wasn't my husband. I didn't know who it was. It was a random stranger."

Realizing that it wasn't safe for her, Jenelle ran over to her 14-year-old son Jace's room and asked for his help. As both mother and son came out, they saw the intruder "yanking as hard as he could" on the back door. Left terrified, Jenelle called 911 and, while explaining her situation and was crying her eyes out.

Jenelle reveals that the only thing that kept the intruder out of her house was the stick of the sliding glass door. Jenelle said, "I've never been that terrified in my life." The intruder then ended up leaving after saying, "So sorry wasn't meant to be here."

Jenelle said, "I didn't have anyone around me for help." The police came and have been investigating the matter since. She is now afraid of the dark and tries to get home before the sun goes down. 

A user commented, "That’s terrifying honey I’m so glad you and your babies are okay.' Another wrote, "How scary! I’m so sorry that happened to y’all." One consoled Jenelle, "Girl you cannot catch a break… Sending so much love and strength!"

After experiencing a frightening incident, Jenelle revealed that she is noticing symptoms of PTSD. She now "gets home before dark and wakes in the middle of the night to check that everything is right." In her Instagram post, Jenelle writes that she is not doing well. The reality TV star claims she's "still sick AF." Her cough is lingering, and she now also has lung and chest pain. Jenelle says, "Hopefully, a few more days and I should be good? I don't know anymore."

Jenelle was diagnosed with Mycoplasma pneumonia, a bacterium that can cause a mild infection of the respiratory system. As she shared her health update, one of her followers asked, "Can I ask you, do you suffer from health anxiety?" Jenelle responded, "Definitely." According to The Sun, Jenelle was on antibiotics for three months. Because of this, she is often seen claiming she's not well.

Last year, Jenelle had surgery on her esophagus. Following her doctor's appointment, the outlet reports her as saying, "I know I'm smiling right now, but the light inside of me is dying." She went for the follow-up appointment and had the tube removed. The reality star went through the painful surgery all by herself and stayed in the hotel throughout the entire process.
