'Tell your story': Husband of writer Natalie Fornasier reveals heartbreaking message she left him before dying at 28
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: The devastated husband of Australian writer Natalie Fornasier, penned a very heartwarming post after her death due to metastatic melanoma. The 28-year-old reportedly died on January 14 after years of fighting the disease.
Eight years ago, when Fornasier was on a holiday in Greece, she noticed a change in the shape of a mole, which she had since birth, on her toe, per the Daily Mail. Later, doctors told her it was cancer. At the time, she reportedly had to get her toe amputated and the lymph nodes in her groin were taken out. Eventually, things got worse before she died earlier this month.

‘Tell Your Story’
Alexander, whom Fornasier met five years ago and married barely two months ago in November 2022, wrote on Instagram, “I’m not sure if I have the right words yet, so let me share something my beautiful wife had put on paper,” before quoting her, “Be confident. Embrace your disability. Don't hide it or lessen its existence. It's one piece of your puzzle and each time you share it, it is an opportunity to define yourself by your own standards. Because telling your story has power, and not only is it powerful to you, but to others as well.”
Alexander continued, “By doing just that, Natalie had, continues to have, and will always have an immeasurable impact on countless people’s lives. ‘Immeasurable’ and ‘countless’ - Those words don’t feel strong enough, do they? But you know what I mean…the feeling of something lasting, opportunity, being shown the potential of yourself and who you can be. The feeling of her believing in you, even if you didn’t know her personally. The feeling of warmth and comfort.”
The devastated man also mentioned how incredible his late wife was, who had a “beautiful soul”. He said, “The soul of a writer, a poet, someone who seemed to have lived many lives. The beautiful soul I fell in love with. That I was so incredibly privileged to have crossed paths with. I love you Natalie, always, forever.”
‘She will never leave you’
Alexander also expressed his gratitude towards her followers as he added, “Lastly, thank you. Natalie was so incredibly touched not only by the generosity, but by the love you have shown her in the last months. Thank you to every single one of you who has donated, sent a message, prayed for and thought of her. In Natalie’s words: ‘Love as much as you can’ - Alexander.”
His owrds left many people emotional as a person commented, “She will never leave you. Or us.” Another user wrote, “Sending you so much love Alex. She will be watching over you always. Free from pain. I will never forget the impact she had on so many of us. Rest easy Natalie.”
A third one said, “Natalie is smiling with you, embracing you and us all right now. Beautiful words for our beautiful girl xxxx.” “Thank you for taking the time to write this. Because of Natalie, I’m committed to going to a derm and getting my moles checked out. Her story is so powerful and her impact is profound we love you,” a fourth one added.
