The recently aired episode of 'Teen Mom 2' struck a chord with fans as Ashley Jones opened up about her experiences with racism during an intense conversation with her baby daddy Bar Smith, and her mother.

The reality star revealed that she was getting some nasty DMs on her Instagram that were racist towards her and her three-year-old daughter Holly. She began wondering how anybody could be racist towards a child. This sparked a discussion with Bar, who pointed out that the person who was saying all these unsavory things must have something else going on in their life which they are projecting onto others. Ashley was still having a hard time wrapping her head around how people can be so horrible towards one another.

Later, Ashley's mother and stepfather came down to see her. The reality star then told her mother about the racist messages she has been getting. She also expressed how she 'never saw' racism growing up because of her wealth. Ashley's mother steps in and tells her daughter that she had to make the very difficult decision of putting her in a school that was predominantly filled with Whites so that she got better education and opportunities in life.

When fans watched this, they pointed out how all Blacks experience racism, irrespective of whether they have money or not. A fan tweeted, "Having money doesn’t stop people from being racist towards you. Racism happens regardless of you being rich or middle class or poor. #TeenMom2." Another fan wrote, "Ashley girl having money don’t remove you from experiencing racism. #TeenMom2." "Wow Ashley sounds stupid as hell talking about she was wealthy so she didn't see racism. No you were oblivious #teenmom2," commented a fan. "Even wealthy black people experience racism! #TeenMom2," added a fan.

Fans also felt sad watching Ashley's mother share the sad truth about how a Black person needs to be around White people to have a better life. A fan shared, "Listening to Ashely’s mom recount her experiences as a black mother and what she felt she needed to do (choosing certain schools for Ashley) is so heartbreaking and yet SUCH a necessary conversation and perspective to have on this show. Thank you so much for sharing. #TeenMom2." "Ashley’s mom admitting they put her in an all white school because they thought it would give her more opportunities in life is sad. #TeenMom2," said a fan.
