Why is 'Ted Lasso' so popular? Here's why Apple TV+ show resonates with viewers

Jamie Tartt, who was previously playing for Manchester City, is perhaps the only player to take the defeat so personally. His father comes to meet him and taunts him about being in a team that is full of amateurs. We get to know how bad his relationship is with his dad. His father is constantly mocking him for everything he did in his life and Jaime had had enough of him. While having a conversation, his father pushes him to an extent that Jaime punches him on his face.

Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) comes in between and takes his father out. After seeing Jaime’s condition, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) consoles him by giving him a hug. On the other hand, Ted gets emotional and gets out of the locker room. He calls the team doctor and finally lets guard down to share why he has been having those panic attacks.

Ted reveals that his father killed himself when he was just 16 years of age and that’s something he can’t seem to forget. He has been thinking about it a lot lately, causing him a lot of discomfort. The coach also says that it might not be the case, but the doctor says that it is because of that unfortunate memory he’s been having a hard time in recent weeks and that’s natural because losing a father like that is something that you’ll never forget.

Ted cries hysterically on the phone while talking as the doctor says that she’ll see him soon.

The episode was the perfect way to end some things in Season 2. Yes, Richmond has been defeated but everyone gets to know how difficult it is for others to play with such emotional baggage on their shoulders. The episode once again shows that the Apple TV+ series gives more importance to feelings rather than the game. With everything that has been said about the show lately, it always manages to exceed all the expectations by showing how emotions and feelings will always be bigger than football or any other game.

Additionally, it is always good that you share how you feel with others, or else you can go into a bubble that will burst one day and it might not be as good as you think. The latest episode with a strong episode that makes us realize why this is one of the best shows in the world right now.

'Ted Lasso' returns with a new episode every Friday on Apple TV+.
