Ted Cruz trolled for 'Team Biden is soft on China' tweet, Internet says 'Team Cruz tough on dildos'
All it took were six words that got Twitter trolling Senator Ted Cruz on Monday evening. When the Texas congressman posted “Team Biden is soft on China,” netizens went into a tizzy, with some people commenting that he is soft on fascism, while others wonder if some lazy, drunk, barely coherent lackey has taken over his account.
The furor turned into a slugfest of tweets, that brought with it a blast from the past — like the time he didn’t defend his wife when Donald Trump had claimed he had some dirt on her, his infamous electoral vote speech moments before the storming of the US Capitol, and that time he defended a ban on dildos.

"Team Cruz is soft on Fascism," seemed to be the general refrain. "I'm really convinced a lackey has taken over your account and they're lazy and drunk and barely coherent. This is going to be so embarrassing when you notice," said a Twitter user.
"Wait, is this THEE Ted Cruz? Holy shit man! Is this the same guy let little Donnie call his wife A dog and his father an assassin and now kisses his ass? Yo, can I get your autograph man?" said another. Another Twitter user noted, "Team Cruz is also known to be tough on dildos: Apr 14, 2016 — "Ted Cruz banned (or attempted to ban) the sale of dildoes in Texas."

Many wondered what indeed he meant when he said 'soft'. "Like “We love each other” soft, or “great leader” soft, or “brilliant man” soft, or “terrific working with President Xi” soft, or...," said a Twitter user. "Team Cruz is the future former joke in politics!" said another.

A rush to embrace China
Four hours after the tweet, Cruz posted a video titled: "WATCH: Team Biden’s troubling rush to embrace the Chinese Communist Party." "China poses the single greatest geopolitical threat to the United States over the next century. One of the really disturbing patterns we've seen with Biden nominee after Biden nominee is a warm embrace of China", he said in the video, with a juxtaposition of 'The Biden administration is rushing to embrace Communist China'.
The video also talked about UN ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, whose 2019 speech at a Confucius Institute, funded by the Chinese government, concerned Cruz earlier. Cruz also stressed upon how none of the Biden nominees wanted to keep Huawei, which he said was "a global espionage company masquerading as a telecom company", on the enemies list.
"This is dangerous, as this administration as a policy decision, is embracing and getting into bed with China," he further said.
Netizens didn't cut Cruz any slack. "Well, so far China hasn't stormed the capitol and tried to overthrow American democracy...so, there's THAT," said one. Catching on to the trend, people made fun of Ted Cruz's rounder figure, saying "WATCH : Team Cruz’s troubling rush to embrace cheeseburgers." Another said, "Watch as Ted Cruz throws a surprise birthday party for Donald Trump," said another, posting a picture of Adolf Hitler speaking at a 1938 Nazi Congress in Nuremberg. Some just stuck to saying "God save this Prom Queen." Many seemed to agree that "Team Cruz should RESIGN," with the hashtag #ResignTedCruz trending for about a week now.
