Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones have decided to part ways. Six weeks after the season six reunion of 'Bachelor in Paradise', the couple who hit it off on the island in Mexico has broken up.

Taking to Instagram recently, Tayshia shared with her followers and fans that she and JPJ have split and are no longer together, but will still remain friends.

"I know you guys have been asking about John and I recently, and as much as I like to keep my personal life private, I realize you have all watched and been a part of our journey from the beginning," Tayshia captioned a photo of her and JPJ together.

"Therefore to stay true to that, I need to be open and honest with you in order to heal and move on," she added.

She further said, "John and I had something incredibly special. We fell for each other in Paradise, and everything was a whirlwind after that."

"When the show ended, I truly went back to Maryland to see if what we had was something we could build on without cameras, a production crew, and without feeling any pressure: to simply figure things out on our own terms," Tayshia reflected.

"But the reality was, we were living on opposite coasts, and working insane schedules that made it impossible to see each other and build a life with each other."

Continuing, she shared that they did the best they could, but couldn't work things out. "We truly did the best we could, but at this time have decided that what is best for both of us is to go our separate ways."

"We are the best of friends and will continue to remain in each other's life because regardless of the situation, we make each other happy," she added.

On Wednesday, JPJ appeared on 'Reality Life with Kate Casey' podcast and spoke about their split. "Tayshia and I met last Friday, but we have so much going on in our personal lives it is very difficult to focus on a serious relationship," JPJ said.

The news of their break up comes less than a month after JPJ moved to California, partly because he wanted to be closer to Tayshia. Though the news of their breakup comes as a shocker, fans and their fellow BIP contestants share their love and support.

Replying to Tayshia's post on Instagram, Nicole Lopez Alvar said, "I love you both so much. You'll always cherish your memories (#JohnPromJones), and I'm sure you'll make new ones, even though they may look different. It was a summer to remember! Love you, T money!"

Sydney Lotuaco, who appeared on 'The Bachelor' Season 23 and 'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 6 with Tayshia commented, "No matter what you always take a little piece of each other with you, which means you both just got even more special. Two incredible humans! We’ll all remember the good times! Never forget #TayPJ."

Kristian Haggerty, also commented on Tayshia's post saying, "I just want to say I am so proud of the woman you are. You are such a light and it’s not easy sharing your love story with the world but know you are so so loved and have so much ahead."

"Thank you for being the strong, genuine influence you have been throughout this whole crazy experience. What matters most is you both are doing what’s best for each of you. Life is so short and you will get through this and come out of all this that much stronger. I love you Tayshia! you got this," she added.
