Many fans of Taylor Swift are now convinced that Kim Kardashian could be sentenced to prison for recording a phone call between her husband, Kanye West, and the 'Shake It Off' singer without her consent.

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star and the rapper have been locked in a bitter feud with Swift for 10 years.  The celebrity tussle only got worse when a leaked phone call recently surfaced online, revealing Swift had indeed never lied and didn't give West the permission to call her "that b***h" in his song 'Famous'. In the leaked clip, West can be heard rapping the controversial lyrics of 'Famous' to Swift and getting her approval for them, but he leaves out the second part, just as Swift had previously claimed. She also states she is uncomfortable participating in the promotions for the song, which West asks her to do.

Coming in support of the ‘Fearless’ singer, one of her fans tweeted: “My dad just asked me if I've heard about the Kim/Taylor drama and then continued to go on and say Kim and Kanye should be thrown in jail..." Another person said, “Kim Taylor can literally sue you and take your a** to prison what’s not clicking what’s not clicking."

The federal law in the United States that says one cannot record a phone call without notifying at least one of the parties involved in it, and in California where the ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ star lives with her rapper husband, require all parties to give their consent for a recording to be made, reports The Mirror.

The law also states that the recording without the consent can only be done in a situation where one of the parties is being threatened for kidnapping, extortion, bribery, human trafficking, or other felony violence by the other party. However, this is not the case in the couple and West's feud.

According to reports, the initial clash between Swift and West began in 2009 when the ‘I love it’ singer interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs and said that his mate Beyonce should have won the best video prize instead of her. The statement left Swift, who had been a fan of West, shocked and devastated.

Later, in 2016, the 42-year-old entrepreneur and fashion designer released his song ‘Famous’, that featured the lyrics: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous". The video was equally controversial with a giant naked wax figurine of Swift lay next to West's.

Soon, after the release, Swift took to social media expressing her concerns that how disrespected she felt. But West insisted she had pre-approved them.

Kardashian also jumped into the feud and shared clips of the conversation between West and Swift where he sang a couple of lines through Swift seeking her permission to use them in the song. West has also dissed the Pennsylvania-born singer as he posted a string of now-deleted tweets: “3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings."

"5th thing I'm not even gone take credit for the idea... it's actually something Taylor came up with ..." he added.
