As per the Raleigh police department, he was electrocuted while trying to climb equipment at an electrical company to flee law enforcement. Since then, his brother Tarik Cohen has garnered some interest among the public.
Wake County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Eric Curry said that Tyrell had fled the scene of a car accident in Raleigh early Saturday morning, May 8. Police tried to locate the 25-year-old but couldn't, so they called off the search. His family filed a missing-person report with the police department Saturday night, and officers started looking for him again on Sunday morning, May 9.

The sheriff's office responded to a call shortly after 9 am from a Duke Energy substation in its jurisdiction where an employee had discovered Tyrell’s body. "He entered the substation, which may have been resulting from the accident," Curry said.
Tarik and Tyrell were born on July 26, 1995, in Bunn, North Carolina. A running back for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League, Tarik played the same position for North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University before being selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
