'Sharknado' actress Tara Reid became the talking point on social media on October 27, after she posted a black and white photo in a bikini. Just a day later, the actress posted another pic in the same two-piece and hit back at trolls who were left stunned by her original photo. The October 27 pic quickly went viral and many people began to troll the actress as "skinny" and "unhealthy", which led her to hit back with the explanation, "I have a high metabolism. Anyone with a high metabolism understands it’s impossible to gain weight."

Back in 2020, the actress found herself in a bit of hot soup, after being confused with Tara Reade, the woman who accused Joe Biden of sexual harassment. But, that's not the only time she made the news in recent years. In April 2020, Reid sparked concern after stumbling and slurring her words during a live TV interview. Back in 2018, she was famously kicked off a Delta flight for causing a "disturbance" before takeoff.

No stranger to being trolled, Reid found herself needing to explain her situation to her millions of fans on October 28, which is what led to the rather critical post on Instagram. That immediately sparked a wave of sympathy for Reid, with fans getting behind her not just on Instagram, but also on other platforms.

'All I do is eat'

On October 27, Reid uploaded a photo in a bikini, taken in Palm Springs. Almost immediately, it led to people being concerned about her. "Hope you are well Tara," one person replied, while another commented, "So thin! I hope you are ok." But, not everyone was so concerned. Some used the opportunity to really mock Reid, commenting things like "Bloody hell get a steak down you Tara," and "You need better friends Tara." One person commented, "This looks very scary and unhealthy."

The trolls continued to attack's Reid's figure, which led to another post, in the same bikini, from a different angle. On October 28, Reid uploaded the photo along with the text, "To all who made their great comments exposing their hate for my artsy picture I posted yesterday, it was the angle. Here is another picture from yesterday to show you I am not too skinny, I have a high metabolism. Anyone with a high metabolism understands it’s impossible to gain weight. All I do is eat. To everyone who wrote something nice and stuck up for me, I love you! And keep spreading that love, it is the only thing that will save this world."

Just like her previous post, this one too quickly gained a lot of attention online and led many supporters to come out and defend the actress. The 45-year-old also added the hashtags #spreadlove, #love, and @nohate to further emphasize her point.

'Don't let the haters bring you down, Tara'

Reid's photo quickly blew up, as she continued to remain a major talking point. On Instagram, people replied to her photo with positive comments like "Hey Tara! I also have a high metabolism and it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to gain weight. Keep being you, and don’t let the haters make you uncomfortable about your body!" One person commented on Twitter, "The fact @TaraReid have to come and explain for herself about her own body because of few judgment people is ridiculous stop judging others you have no right to comment on anyone's bodies." Another replied, "You shouldn't have to explain yourself to anybody stay strong girl people can be so cruel don't let the haters bring you down be your own boss loads of love."

"I have a high metabolism too so I know how you feel @TaraReid it's not easy trying to put weight on all I do is eat and nothing and be proud with the body you have x," one person said. Another tweeted, "You are beautiful, tell the haters to look at there self in mirror and go to heck."

Beyond taking on trolls, Reid has been extremely busy of late. She recently joined TikTok and even announced a plan to launch a line of low-rise jeans. For now, though, she's quite busy promoting her limited-edition Kura bags, made from cactus leather.
