Tammy Slaton gives 'best birthday surprise' to her surgeon by walking on her own and ditching oxygen pipe
DIXON, KENTUCKY: '1000-lb Sisters' star Tammy Slaton looked thrilled as she walked unaided in a new video uploaded by her doctor. The television personality showed off her dramatic weight loss in the new video as she was seen walking without needing to be attached to an oxygen tank.
Tammy visited her surgeon, Dr Eric Smith, to give him a surprise on his birthday. However, it seems like Tammy's surprise was a huge success as Dr Smith left stunned when he saw Tammy walking towards him without any help. Tammy's surgeon was left stunned by the reality star's surprise.

Tammy Slaton surprises her surgeon
Tammy's surgeon Dr Smith recently took to his social media and shared a video with TLC star. In the video, Tammy surprised her weight loss surgeon by coming to his office and showing off the fact that she finally ditched her oxygen tube and was walking on her own. "Something's missing!" Slaton says proudly, pointing to her face as she walks and gives Smith a hug. "No oxygen! That’s awesome!" Dr Smith said before the reality star shared that she has been without it for two weeks.
Dr Smith dubbed the moment the "best birthday surprise". Excited Dr Smith captioned the video, "Look who came to visit me on my birthday! 🥳@queentammy86." However, Dr Smith went on to share more photos with Tammy on his Instagram. In Dr Smith's second post, Tammy posed with her brother Chris Combs and the surgeon. He captioned, the photo, "Feeling blessed today from all the birthday love from my patients, staff, friends and family. You all mean the world to me and make every year more exciting! 🎂." Tammy later re-shared the post to her own Instagram Stories.

Tammy Slaton continues to make dramatic progress following weight-loss surgery
Tammy has come a long way since having bariatric surgery in 2022 and achieved new milestones after she faces her near-death experience prior to the surgery when she was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma after family members said she stopped breathing. Tammy needed to drop from 717 lbs. to 550 lbs. in order to qualify for weight loss surgery, and much to her excitement, she made it down to 534 lbs.
However, Tammy recently admitted in the latest interview that she was feeling "great" as she continued to make dramatic progress following her weight-loss surgery. She further shared with People, "I wised up and got my surgery," adding, "I was able to make my lungs strong enough to get my trach [tracheostomy tube for breathing] out, and then recently the doctor cleared me to be off my oxygen machine during the daytime." Tammy shared an update on her health noting that now she only wear her oxygen at night, along with her BiPap machine." Tammy further noted that she monitors her oxygen levels throughout the day and keeps her machine on hand in case she needs it.
