SZA leads Grammy nominations for 2024 with 9 nods across three categories

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: SZA has done herself no harm. The ‘Kill Bill’ singer has won nine nominations for Grammy Awards 2024 in a total of three categories.

The other stars who follow her include Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, and boygenius got six a piece.

Who all are nominated for album of the year award?

In the Album of the Year category, the nominees feature a strong representation of female artists, including SZA's 'SOS,' Taylor Swift's 'Midnights,' Olivia Rodrigo's 'Guts,' Miley Cyrus's 'Endless Summer Vacation,' boygenius's 'The Record,' Lana Del Rey's 'Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,' and Janelle Monáe's 'The Age of Pleasure.'

Jon Batiste is the sole male nominee, competing with 'World Music Radio.' Batiste is the only male artist nominated for Song of the Year 'Butterfly' and Record of the Year 'Worship.'

Multiple songs are up for both honors, comprising Eilish’s 'What Was I Made For?' from Barbie, Swift’s 'Anti-Hero,' SZA’s 'Kill Bill,' Rodrigo’s 'Vampire' and Cyrus’ 'Flowers.'

Other nominees include Del Rey’s 'A&W' and Dua Lipa’s 'Dance the Night' from Barbie, the popular soundtrack scored 12 Grammy nominations thanks to hit singles by Eilish, Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and Ryan Gosling.

SZA has garnered nominations across diverse music genres, making her a contender in the pop, R&B, and rap fields. Her collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers on 'Ghost In the Machine' is in the running for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

The track 'Low' has earned a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Additionally, she is set to compete in four R&B categories, including Best Progressive R&B Album with 'SOS,' Best R&B Song for 'Snooze,' Best R&B Performance for 'Kill Bill,' and Best Traditional R&B Performance for 'Love Language.'

SZA deluxe version on 'SOS'

The ‘Good Days’ singer recently revealed that a deluxe edition of her second studio album, 'SOS,' is set to be released soon.

During a celebratory event at Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City, the 33-year-old artist shared the exciting news, stating, "So the deluxe is like a whole 'nother album, and it’s called 'Lana'. It’s seven to 10 songs, and it’ll be out this fall," as reported by MEAWW.

SZA, whose real name is Solana Rowe, also performed unreleased tracks and fan favorites, The Hollywood Reporter.

The event also featured Ice Spice. "Heads up, we don’t actually have a plan," she addressed the audience at the start of the event.
