EL PASO, Texas: A Southwest Airlines employee was killed in an attack at El Paso International Airport after being allegedly tracked by the suspect. 50-year old Bernard Walter Christmann is charged with the murder of a Southwest Airlines employee named Juan Anzaldo.

According to reports, the 49-year-old victim was seen leaving work around 9:30 pm on November 19. The surveillance footage showed him walking towards his vehicle that was parked in the employee parking lot.

In the arrest affidavit that was released, it has been mentioned that Anzaldo noticed one of the four tires of his car being slashed and out of suspicion, called a co-worker to let him know about the inconvenience. When the co-worker asked if Anzaldo suspected anyone, the latter named Christmann. Christmann is the ex-husband of Juan's current girlfriend. Coincidentally, both Christmann and Anzaldo work for the same airlines.

While the victim was explaining this to his co-worker, the latter heard a man's voice who was assumed to be approaching Anzaldo. When the police inquired, the co-worker said he heard some arguments between the suspect and Anzaldo and the latter crying for help. Hearing the victim's cry, the co-worker and other employee ran towards the parking lot. Upon arrival at the scene, they saw a man dressed in a hoodie and pants leaving the parking lot.

The affidavit statement further revealed that of the two co-workers, one stayed with Anzaldo and the other followed the suspect. The suspect was later identified as Christmann by the co-worker.

Victim's Girlfriend and Suspect's wife

Anzaldo and Christmann's wife had been dating for over a period of 12 months. Further investigation revealed that Christmann and his wife were still married. When the police arrived at the female's home, they saw a similar vehicle like the witness described when Christmann escaped the airport. They also found out that during the time of the murder, Christmann was not an employee of Southwest Airlines. Similarly, the wife was not on duty when the murder happened. She said she wasn't sure of her husband's whereabouts as she had had a long day and taken sleeping medications.
