Susan Lucci, 76, jumps on dating bandwagon one year after husband Helmut Huber's death
LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK: Susan Lucci is back on the market! The 76-year-old ageless beauty lost her long-time husband Helmut Herber a year ago in March 2022. Susan has stayed off the dating scene ever since. But now, the soap opera queen is all set to get back into the dating pool again as the first anniversary of her husband’s death approaches. One of her friends stated that they have been trying to set Lucci up with men for a while, but she was not interested. Now, she has finally agreed, albeit reluctantly.
"We have been trying to set her up with nice guys for a few months now," a friend revealed. "Finally, Susan said yes. Understandably, she is cautious about being in the public eye. It's not like she wants to be set up with Pete Davidson but at least she's dating again!”

Susan Lucci is back on the dating market
A report states that since Lucci finds that the dating scene has changed quite a lot in the many decades that she was away from it, she has set strict boundaries as well. "Susan has made it clear: no online dating. She has also ruled out blind dates…She's leaning on her inner circle to hook her up,” an insider spilled. "However, if a friend has someone they think she should meet, they can all go out for dinner together and see what happens," as per RadarOnline.
Susan Lucci’s enduring marriage with Helmut Huber
While she may be single and ready to mingle now, Lucci had a long-time marriage filled with love with Helmut Huber, who also served as her manager. The pair were married for 53 years until Huber’s death in 2022, at the age of 84. He died in peace, surrounded by family and friends in Long Island, New York. They have two children- Liza and Andreas.
About the loss, a rep for the couple had said, “Helmut’s passing is a tremendous loss for all who knew and loved him. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend. The family kindly asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”
While Huber's cause of death was never revealed, it is reportedly thought that he died of a stroke. It is rumored to be so because the family had asked for donations to be made to the American Stroke Association instead of sending flowers to those he left behind.
