LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After an intense casting process spanning months, Warner Bros and DC Studios have finally found their Superman and Lois Lane for James Gunn's highly anticipated film 'Superman: Legacy'. David Corenswet has secured the iconic role of Clark Kent aka Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will bring her talent to the beloved character of Lois Lane, as per June 27 reports.

The duo was among the six actors who competed for the coveted lead roles. Gunn arranged intense screen tests over the June 17 weekend, where the likes of Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney were trying out for the role of Superman. Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor were likewise in the run to portray the tenacious Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan set to make their mark in the superhero universe

For Corenswet, 'Superman: Legacy' marks his first leading role in a major studio production, following his notable appearances in projects such as 'Pearl', 'The Politician', and 'We Own This City'. The actor's name consistently emerged as a strong contender from the beginning of the casting process, and after an awe-inspiring final audition, he was able to successfully secure what is going to be one of the most significant roles of his career.

Meanwhile, Brosnahan, renowned for her career-defining portrayal of Miriam Maisel in Amazon's 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel', just capped off the final season of the acclaimed series. Her exceptional talent and undeniable screen presence made her a frontrunner for the role of Lois Lane, with many describing her audition as nothing short of exceptional.

As rumors of the duo being cast as Superman and Lois Lane were going around the Internet for a while, users were thrilled when the official casting decision was announced, and they wasted no time in letting out their happiness.
