Super Bowl LVI: Coinbase dubbed best ad, Dave McCormick's 'Let's Go Brandon' a close 2nd
If the game and halftime show make up half the hype around the Super Bowl, it might not be an exaggeration to say Super Bowl ads contribute the rest of the hype. Super Bowl LVI definitely delivered in the commercial department, as fans cherry-picked their favorite ones on social media.
While Larry David, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jim Carrey, and Zendaya received special shoutouts for their Super Bowl commercials, it was Coinbase's QR Code that took home the best ad award. In fact, the brilliant commercial led so many viewers to the Coinbase server that their app crashed with error messages popping up. Senate candidate Dave McCormick's Let's Go Brandon commercial also earned many fans among GOP supporters and Conservatives, making it a close second for Super Bowl LVI's fan-favorite ad.

Leading cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase revolutionized the concept of commercials by keeping theirs as simple as it could be. Midway through the game, viewers spotted their TV screen turning black, with a QR code floating around like a screensaver. Curious, millions of viewers scanned the code on their phones that immediately redirected them to the Coinbase app. An electronic tune played in the background throughout the entire duration of the ad, at the end of which, a brilliant blue screen appeared before the viewers, revealing the Coinbase website.
