'Summer House' star Hannah Berner courted controversy after she made some controversial statements about suicide while mocking castmate and former flame Luke Gulbranson. Berner joked about Gulbranson and his emotional state while being featured on the podcast 'Puddles with Andrew Collins'.

Fans have alerted her sponsors about these statements. One of her mental health sponsors, BetterHelp, which focuses on enabling people to access professional counseling, is currently investigating the issue.

'So he said he's going to kill himself'

On the podcast, Burner is heard talking about Gulbranson. She addresses the fact that he had apparently been going through a rough patch and narrates what she said to him. "You're stronger than this, don't let this girl ruin your life. You're going to kill yourself?" Berner had said. To this, the host replied: "You literally said that? Geez."

Berner continued to make light of Gulbranson's situation as she spoke about the incident. "That day we were supposed to hang out and I said bring a condom," she narrated while laughing. This is when the host asked, "So he said he's going to kill himself and you go 'you wanna f**k?'" As mentioned in a thread posted on Reddit, BetterHelp was sent a link to the podcast, after which the organization confirmed that they are "looking deeper into the situation with Hannah and will take action as necessary". The screenshot of the DM that was sent to BetterHelp has now been deleted.

'Gotta hit her where it hurts'

Multiple fans of the show called her out for her behavior on the thread. "Good, at least she can’t monetize mocking suicidal ideation now," wrote a user. Fans also agreed that reaching out to her sponsors was important, in order to get the star to realize the error of her way. "I do feel like going directly to where it would effect her, her sponsors, is the way to go (sic). I don't think the change.org petition will have much merit with Bravo. They may take on the perspective that our intense dislike of Hannah may equate to increased ratings for the manufactured drama she brings and thus keep her on SH or at least Bravo Chat. But I think hitting Hannah in her pockets is the key and seems to have worked with other scenarios, such as the string of real life Karens the world was infested and dealing with not too long ago. Gotta hit her where it hurts, her sponsors/gigs," wrote a user.

Another one pointed out that Berner went through the trouble of getting rid of the podcast. "She really did a good job of getting that podcast episode scrubbed from the internet. I can’t find episode 30 or 31 anywhere," they wrote. However, Redditors were able to find a link to the same. You can check out the podcast here

Berner joined the cast of 'Summer House' during its Season 3 run in 2019. Her relationship with Gulbranson led to a downhill spiral and resulted in the deterioration of her friendship with Amanda Batula and Paige DeSorbo.

It didn't help that her attitude on the show seemed to not only annoy her housemates but also fans of the show. Her rude behavior with the cast and her constant PDA with now-fiancé Des Bishop didn't sit too well with fans of the show.

Berner's Instagram post sparked pregnancy rumors

To top it off, fans have not been too onboard with Berner's sense of humor. She suffered quite a backlash in March when she shared a photo of herself implying that she was pregnant.

Although she made no mention of the same, the photo was caption: "Proud to announce I’m still bloated from emotionally eating in my bed all summer!!!!" and featured Berner holding her stomach. Fans were not pleased as it was deemed as "insensitive" to people with infertility issues.

The progress and outcome of BetterHelp's investigation are currently unknown.
