'Stumptown': How Dex has been 'The Other Woman' in all the love triangles on the show so far
ABC's 'Stumptown' has managed to hold our attention episode after episode by introducing several interesting characters.
Even the ones that only appeared for a short while, such as the taco truck owner and Dex's guardian angel Tookie (Andrian Martinez), played out so well that we've been rooting for his return despite the series nearing its end.
The protagonist Dex (Cobie Smulders) is one character who has intrigued us all along and continues to surprise us by revealing different shades to her persona.
The previous episode 'The Other Woman', once again took us by surprise by exposing us to Dex's unexpected behavior and we ought to credit the creators for bringing us this twist!
All along, Dex presented herself to be someone who is least interested in committed relationships, basically devoid of all feelings remotely associated with romance. However, that hasn't stopped her from being the other woman in literally every relationship explored on 'Stumptown' till now.
Dex's recurring flashbacks have told us a lot about her relationship with Benny, who was at the time married to Naomi before he decided to go after his love interest who was serving her time as a marine in Afghanistan.
Dex was well-aware of Benny's marriage and yet continued to be involved with him. However, she is now resentful of her actions and is seen craving for Naomi and the rest of the family's forgiveness.
There was also a brief period when Mill's (Michael Ealy) proximity with one of his acquaintances present at the station irked Dex. Although he tried refraining from justifying his relationship with the lady, Dex insisted on knowing what was cooking between them.
And in no time, the PI had managed to rekindle her relationship with the police chief while she expressed her disappointment in Grey's new girlfriend.
Alas, nothing could beat what we saw in the last episode. Grey, her best friend and Ansel's caretaker requested Dex to be more accepting of his relationship with Liz. However, what she did was end up waking up naked next to Liz following an intense night at the casino.
Knowingly or unknowingly, Dex has gotten herself involved in every relationship she's encountered and this makes us wonder who she is going to end up with by the time the series concludes.
