'Strictly Come Dancing' star Katya Jones' nudes get leaked online after hacker finds access to her iCloud
'Strictly Come Dancing' star Katya Jones has been left "deeply embarrassed" after explicit photos of her were leaked online this past week.
Jones, 30, a Russian dancer and choreographer who came to limelight after she won the 2017 season of the BBC dance show with Scottish actor Joe McFadden, was the victim of a hack, according to the Sun.
The hackers reportedly got into her mobile phone's iCloud, a storage and cloud computing service that allows users to store their data remotely, and got away with her nudes, as well as other pictures where she's also dressed in her underwear.
The hack is said to have left Jones worrying over her future in 'Strictly Come Dancing,' though it looks unlikely she will be losing her place since she is the victim.
"She doesn’t want to disappoint Strictly producers and is well aware that she works on a family show," a source said. "She is worried about the impact it could have should the pictures surface more widely."
"But the Strictly producers have assured her it’s not her fault and she doesn’t need to worry," the source continued. "She’s told her pals that she is deeply embarrassed and regrets taking ever taking them."
"Katya just hopes that others can learn from her mistake by avoiding getting carried away and taking nude pictures. There is an understanding that stars of the family show represent it at all times, as it’s such a privilege to be part of and should act a certain way."
The source said it was a "fresh blow" to the dancer after the controversy that had followed her after she cheated on her husband Neil Jones with her 2018 dance partner, comedian Sean Walsh.
The incident, which unfolded in October 2018, had seen Jones kissing Walsh after the duo went out for a drink after wrapping up training for the evening.
It had immediate repercussions for Walsh, whose girlfriend took to social media in the aftermath to announce she was breaking up with him. She revealed the kiss had happened on October 3, which was her birthday, and that she had long suspected something was going on in between her husband and Jones.
She also said he was "controlling" and that he had "aggressively, and repeatedly, called me a psycho/ nuts/ mental" every time she had tried to call out his behavior.
Jones had apologized for her actions in a statement where she wrote, "I’m so sorry about any offense or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks. I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship."
But in August 2019, she confirmed that she had split from her husband as well, telling fans on Instagram, "We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends. This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together."
