Is Steven Tyler OK? Aerosmith singer checks into rehab, fans say ‘unfortunate but understandable’

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, who has always been open about his struggles and substance abuse, voluntarily entered rehab after he relapsed, as revealed by the official Instagram page of the iconic rock band. An official statement was shared on the photo-sharing site that further informed about the current situation of Tyler.
 
Steven Tyler entering rehab proved to be bad news for music lovers as the band had to cancel their June and July shows in Las Vegas. The decision will allow the 74-year-old rocker to focus on his “well-being” as revealed in the joint statement penned by Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford. Social media users then rushed to Twitter to pray for Tyler’s speedy recovery.

Steven Tyler voluntarily checks into rehab

Sharing a detailed post on Instagram, the Aerosmith page stated, “As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”
 
The joint statement continued, “We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must cancel our first set of Las Vegas Residency dates this June and July while he focuses on his well-being. We will continue our 2022 dates starting in September, and we’ll let you know any further updates as soon as we can. We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows” adding, “Thank you for your understanding and for your support for Steven during this time. For the unversed, Tyler is the father of four adult children- Liv, 44, Mia, 43, Chelsea, 33, and Taj, 31. He has been dating his former personal assistant Aimee Preston since 2016.



 

‘This is unfortunate but understandable’

The fans of Steven Tyler flocked to Twitter to wish him well as one of the users stated, “Steven Tyler enters Recovery amid relapse. We wish him well and glad he has entered a Recovery Program. Those who have been through this know it’s necessary and painful at the same time. It takes guts to admit you need help and more guts to get the help.” Another users shared, “Steven Tyler has entered rehab after a relapse, I’m praying for him and am so glad he got himself help straight away!”
 
One individual posted, “Aerosmith Singer Steven Tyler Enters Rehab After Relapse.  Awww man not my man, not again! prayers up for you Steven! Keep the faith kid!” Another tweeted, “Very sad. Sobriety is never just a given. At any time, we can fall off the ledge. I'm glad he's recognized it quickly. I hopes he's healing and back on the road again soon.” And, one concluded, “This is unfortunate but understandable.  I hope Mr Tyler can recover.”
