LOS ANGLES, CALIFORNIA: Earlier this week, Donald Trump unleashed a social media tirade, targeting the "talentless, low-rated CREEPS of Late Night Television."

In response, 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert expressed his delight, quipping, "Thank you for watching, sir."

Trump criticized late-night shows as "poorly rated and not at all funny," alleging they funded a "major" portion of campaign contributions to Democrats.

Stephen Colbert calls Trump's insult a 'rave review'

Colbert cheekily attributed, “But I’m not surprised. I mean, he’s a 77-year-old white guy. Of course he’s watching CBS.”

Colbert cleverly responded to Trump's comments, turning the insult into what he called a "rave review."

He playfully stated, "I know you meant that as an insult, but that really sounds like the kind of rave review you wanna slap on a Times Square billboard."

True to his words, Colbert then cut to a colossal video billboard in Times Square featuring a picture of himself alongside Trump's words, prominently attributing them to the former president in large letters.

With a touch of sarcasm, Colbert expressed gratitude for the "endorsement" and humorously suggested that Trump might catch a glimpse of the billboard on his way to a court appearance or a Bubba Gump shrimp event.

Colbert also humorously pointed out an oddity in Trump's late-night post on his Truth Social platform.

‘True LOSERS’

Donald Trump has maintained a longstanding grievance with late-night shows, taking issue with their repeated jabs at him.

His targets have included Kimmel, Colbert, Jon Stewart, 'Saturday Night Live', and Alec Baldwin, among others.

“Now that the ‘strike’ is over, the talentless, low rated CREEPS of Late Night Television are back,” Donald Trump rant on his Truth Social website.

“I knew there was a reason I didn’t want to see it settled - True LOSERS!!!”

According to Rolling Stone earlier this year, there were reports that officials from the Trump White House made a minimum of two phone calls in 2018 to a high-ranking Disney executive.

The calls were requests for the network to take action against Kimmel due to his jokes about Trump.

Trump concluded his post with an intriguing teaser: "Watch what is going on ― so interesting!"
