There's a new Sheriff in town... er, sorry, superhero. Meet Stargirl (Brec Bassinger) or rather Courtney Whitmore, who moved to Nebraska the other day, and got her hands on a super-powerful Cosmic Staff, hidden by her stepfather, Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson). In the second episode, she's fashioned a super-suit for herself and already encountered her first demonic villain: Brainwave (Christopher James Baker), who almost got the better of her. Apart from that, he already knows her secret identity. Not such a great start for her superhero career is it? Well, they have an epic showdown, where Stargirl manages to save herself and Pat, and send Brainwave into a coma. This is obviously not the end of the Brainwave drama, as his son Henry King Jr (Jake Austin Walker) looks rather ominous. In the comics, Brainwave's son oscillated between being the hero and villain, it will be interesting to see what he does on The CW show.

Meanwhile, fans enjoyed the fight between Stargirl and Brainwave, thoroughly. "Fasting secret identity reveal in the whole DC TV universe to date," a fan tweeted.

"Courtney starting off her superhero career with the bad guy immediately knowing her identity is not a great look," a fan wrote.

"Girl needs to slow her roll. She’s known about the JSA for all of 2 mins. #StarGirl #StargirlCW," a fan tweeted.

"The writers are really laying their hands out early with the fact that Brainwave has not only seen Courtney's face, but now knows her identity. In episode 2 #Stargirl," a fan wrote.

"That's why you need a mask," a fan wrote.

Moreover, Courtney is rather blunt with Brainwave and even tells him that she knows what he did to her father. Honesty sometimes isn't the best policy for a superhero, just saying. "You'll pay for what you did to my father and the JSA..." Oh I guess we're not even gonna try to play dumb. #DCStargirl #Stargirl@stargirl_cw," a fan pointed out.

However, failure at preserving super identities is a common Arrowverse trope. "Ol girl bout bad at identities as the folks in the arrowverse #Stargirl," a fan tweeted.

Well, Courtney's off to a rough start and it's sure not getting easier from her. Tune into 'Stargirl' on Tuesdays at 8 pm on The CW.
