'Clueless' star Stacey Dash arrested for domestic violence, claims self-defense
Actress-turned-talk show host Stacey Dash of 'Clueless' fame has been arrested for domestic battery after she attacked her new husband in Florida, according to reports. According to TMZ, Dash was arrested Sunday in Pasco County, where she owns a home, after getting into an argument with her new husband, Jeffrey Marty, which allegedly escalated to the point where she physically attacked him.
Police officers were reportedly called to the home around 7:45 p.m. to respond to a domestic dispute. They allegedly found Dash's husband with scratch marks on his arm. Dash was taken to the Land O’ Lakes detention center and released on a $500 bail.
According to Dash's manager, the alleged battery was actually an act of self-defense. The manager claimed Dash's husband attacked her first by attempting to choke the actor. The scratches on Marty's arm were allegedly defensive wounds that were inflicted on him while Dash tried to fight back.
The manager also claimed Dash was the one who called the police and that the reason she was arrested instead of her husband was because she didn't have any marks on her while her husband did. Not much is known about Dash's husband Marty other than that he is a lawyer.
The couple got married a year ago in a secret wedding ceremony after a whirlwind romance. Dash, who is a Bronx native, played Dionne Davenport in the 1995 cult classic 'Clueless'.
She has since transitioned into the role of a political correspondent and has received some attention as a Conservative pundit. Dash also ran in the 2018 Congressional Election as a Republican, though she eventually dropped out of the race.
