Model Brooks Nader shuts down troll who called her 'slut' for wearing see-through dress: 'It made me feel empowered'

After swimsuit model Brooks Nader got heavily trolled for wearing a sheer mini-dress to the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Awards on December 9, with one user calling her a "slut" on Instagram.

The 22-year-old donned a one-shoulder dress by Bronx and Banco to the event which honored soccer star Megan Rapinoe that left little to the imagination. It was made of a nude-colored mesh and fitted with crystals, which showed off a pair of skin-toned underwear and what appeared to be pasties beneath the dress.

Since it hardly covered up anything, it also put her incredible figure on display. She posted a bunch of pictures of her unique look on Instagram, with the caption, "Had so much fun celebrating the bad a** @mrapinoe at @sportsillustrated SportsPerson of the Year awards!"

Unfortunately, not all social media users agreed with her. "Why do women like you wear see thru clothes, then get mad when men treat them likes sluts? I guess you dont [sic]," one person commented.

To that user, Brooks replied with, "I wore this dress because I wanted to and it made me feel sexy, maybe that's not empowering to you but is it to me."

After her response, a number of her fans came to her rescue, some even assuming that the cruel remark was made by a man. However, they were wrong.

"I’m a woman. I love being a woman and I love men. This picture isn’t sexy, she is asking to be abused. Why cant you people see this. Have you never heard of the me too movement? [sic]" the troll wrote. "Also, if you don't like people commenting on your picture....you need to grow some thicker skin."

She also explained that the dress donned by Brooks made her take to Instagram and express her views on the revealing dress.

"I never post on Instagram and don’t intend to after this comment. I stand by everything I have written on here," she wrote. "Wearing a total see-through dress is asking to be raped. She probably already has used her body to get ahead...I call it as I see it, popular or not. [sic]"

The unrelenting attack on her dress and character, led Brooks to post a screenshot of the woman's comments, adding that she had blocked her.

"I try not to get involved in the negative comments but saying that I am 'asking to be abused' by wearing the dress I chose is unacceptable and disturbing and gets a block," she said.
